Games not working...

Hi everybody,

I am glad I finally found a place online where there seem to be a lot of people with extensive knowledge about the Wii and the D2Pro9 modchip.
Before you tell me that it's been asked before and I should have read previous thread, let me tell you that I did this. The problem is, each case is different and since I read that you can ruin your wii, I prefer to ask my own things to double check that I understood correctly.
I am myself a complete newbie. I installed the chip, but I am facing a few hurdles with some games not working properly. I would appreciate some guidelines, but I am warning you that I am not very familiar with the lingo that you guys are using :) So I hope I can find someone who will understand that.

I have an NTSC Wii with version 3.3, and D2Pro9 V2. I have downloaded and burnt backups (at the slowest speed). Some are working perfect, some I had to apply the friizone and brickblocker before burning, and are working fine too.
I am having trouble with Animal Crossing (NTSC) and My Vet practice (PAL).
The symptoms for both are that I can start the game from the main menu, but it goes into the black screen.

1) These games are fairly new, so is there an update that has to be done on the Wii or the Chip in order to make these work ?
2) Also, to avoid doing any critical damage to my Wii, is there any other way to ruin the Wii other than applying the update that will change the region ?
3) I have been burning images to a RW DVD to test the image before I copy it to a DVD R, does it work the same on a RW as opposed to +R -R ? (I was sick of ruining DVDs)

Well I will answer what i know...

1) Yes Animal Crossing needs an update when you insert the wii or you can patch with ISO38 if you have WAD installer and Homebrew.

2.) Yes..dont play the Wii in the rain or place in tub it will ruin it...other than that not sure.

3.) Use Nero to assure a good burn. I personally do not like IMGBURN, i have had 100% succes rate with NERO.....

Could you please tell me what that iso38 and wad/homebrew installer are ? Where do you get it ? How does it get installed ? What does it do overall ? (I warned you I was a newbie :) )
I use Nero as well and it's been working fine so far, that's why I don't think the problem is the burning process.

I still don't understand what I am supposed to do at this point to make some game work. Like I mentioned earlier, I have an NTSC wii with 3.3.
I am trying to burn Animal Crossing and Disney Sing it. I used the RegionFrii and Brickblocker. I tried any combination of using just RegionFrii or Brickblocker, and both together. I get mixed results. Without Brickblocker I get the update prompt and with the Brickblocker, I get the dark screen.

1) Do I need to update anything ? That's what I am not sure of.
2) What does that ISO38 do ?

2) Fixes the black screen

Sounds like a basic question I know, but, what type of disks are you using to burn? Brand, -R, etc?

As far as the disks are concerned, I read that it's better to use -R. I have been using +R simply because I did not really encounter many problems with most of the backups, and because I have a bunch of those +R. Yeah I am cheap :)

For that ISO38. Is that a patch I apply to the image or is it something to install on the Wii ?

use wad manager to install it via homebrew channel

Let me just confirm... Since he has an NTSC console and the game he downloaded (Animal Crossing) is NTSC, than he can just burn the ISO with Nero and when it asks to update, he is safe to do so, right?
