Worried about bricking Wii, How can i update to 4.3E as safely as possible?

Hey guys,

Ive got a little bit of a problem. I have a D2Pro modded Wii running 3.3E. Now I am able to play all the games i want, except for some of the newer games, that require a software update. Now on my D2Pro i enabled "Update Blocker" to prevent my Wii console getting bricked. So this means any time i put in a "Newish" game it will hang on a black screen.

Now i have asked the company that modded my Wii what to do. They say to disable the update blocker and update the Wii, which should be fine as long as i haven't software modded the Wii at all. Which i kind of have :confused:

All i have done is installed the HBC and installed some N64 and Super Nintendo games via WAD installer and Uninstaller. So nothing too major.

So my fear is that when i go to update my Wii to 4.3E via the game i might brick my Wii as i have mucked around with the HBC etc. So yeah do you think it will be fine to update? And what are the chances of it getting bricked?

Moved to more appropriate section (specific modchip) of site. To answer your question, in hardmod mode your Wii rely upon installed IOS being present; if they are not, this will cause black screens. Since you have the benefit of a hard and softmodded Wii, I suggest you look here and manually install whatever missing IOS that your Wii needs. This way, you'll stay @ 3.3E (btw: that version isn't supported per se by our particular softmod guides --- 3.2, 4.0/4.1/4.2/4.3 are) and avoid what you otherwise expect.
