    d2pro9 v2 updating to FW 2.3 methods

have a d2pro9 v2 with 1.6 utility disc but the factory firmware (before 2.3 i think). before i upgraded to 1.6, i had it to 1.4. and at that time i could play single layer games fine, but not ssbb. but now that i've upgraded to 1.6, i play brawl fine, but most of my single games give me a "disc could not be read" dialogue. i'm using memorex dvd-r and i'm using the right burning methods. if i plug a usb with the latest FW at the back of the wii, would that do anything? the reason i ask is because i hate the thought of having to open up the wii to connect the d2prog to the chip. if what i suggested won't work, is there any other alternative method of updating the firmware?

You should have installed the flat cable to the chip and routed it out the back of the wii, you plug the d2prog into that and do the update.

the media you are using though is not a good one, switch to something better verbatim dvd-r made in japan or singapore, at the least made in taiwan (do not get made in india).
