Update your existing IOS first. If you have BootMii installed, I'm guessing it's boot2 as it's not an IOS. Teal'C has a thread in the Recommended Guides section named IOS Games Need to Run or similar. Usually with a missing IOS the Wii will simply blackscreen. Out of date IOS on the other hand, not black screen but other behaviors.

You still neglected to provide an explanation for trucha-enabled IOS (all of them) and why IOS 222 isn't installed. What guide did you follow with regard to the softmod?

We do not support another sites' guides. It likely explains all the trucha-enabled IOS, but still leaves the question standing about the partial Hermes IOS 222/223 install. Also, did you try these games via the softmod loader as well as the standard disc channel (meaning tried the hardmod, then the softmod way to load them)? Was there any difference in behavior?

    Thanks for your reply.

It seems I made a mistake while installing and installed 223 instead of 222. However, I installed 222 now and the problem is still here.
Unfortunately I don't have a flash drive over 4GB nor a portable HDD. I'll see if I can get one - if I do I'll give you the update ASAP.

I'm truly sorry. I appreciate your help very much.

As far as I have learned (and that's not a lot), to use a softmod loader you'll need a usb device, but unfortunately I don't have a flash drive over 4GB nor a portable HDD to put the backup iso in.
Is there any other way to softmod load games?

This only shows me how much the guides you followed are FAIL guides. Try Neo Gamma (R8 is final; R9s are betas) from here (channel install versions; use wad manager to install).

Uloader also works; it can be found here.

Wow, I never knew that. FAIL indeed.

I've installed Neogamma r9 b28 running on IOS249 v17. When I tried to run those games it would say "No DVD (n)".

However, it can successfully run the old games I can normally play on the Wii.

    Thanks.
