Question D2pro w/ WiiClip DMS Disc Read Problems

I just installed my D2pro using the Wiiclip which was presoldiered on for me and it seems to work sometimes and not others, it is less than a 50% work rate for my backed up games. It has the latest 2.3 firmware loaded. I confirmed that my Wiiclip is a legit one, and when it was installed went on smoothly with no trouble and appear to seat quite well.

I am using downloaded backups of games I own, and I burned them with both Nero and with Imgburn, on 3 different types of media, I have used Fugifilm -R, Sony +R, and Verbatim -R, so far the best combo seams to be using Nero with the Fugifilm -R disks.

However I can not get the Sony +R burned with IMGburn to work at all, or the Verbatim -R burned with IMGBurn to work at all.

I am using an LG model: GSA-2164D external burner, burning at 4x speed.

One thing i noticed when i installed my mod chip and tested it out before putting it back together was that when i turn it on, it blinks red, blue, red blue, red, blue, a total of three times back and forth, I have been looking around and searching but was not able to find out if that means anything.

As mentioned it works less than 50% of the time, i have tried putting the disk in and then starting up, putting the disk in after start up, and putting the disk in after having a non backup original in.

Can someone please point me in the correct direction as to what my problem may be.

hmmmm constant flashing lights can indicate that the drive is rejecting the chip but it have no choice but to allow the chip to inject the necessary codes to the drive.
Try using the infamous verbatim DVD-R (taiyo yuden) disc and use alcohol 120% to burn your games at 4x or use the phillips DVD-R at 4x too if it don't work. Also try a newer version of imgburn cause the older ones seem to have a little problem with certain burners.

Also it seems that your games are having a problem, try downloading them again.
Thanks everyone for the great support.
Hope to hear from you soon, cause i'm getting ready to retire from the modding scene.
    Gonna start a new profession.

Any idea what the multiple blinking lights means? The chip still works, but only part of the time, should I take it off and reseat it, or is that a bad idea?

I also have read somewhere that the LG and Lite On dvd burners were not that great, that others have had issues with them.

yes is true.....LG and lite-on burners don't work because their design in the lasers is not stable enough to properly burn an image to a disc.

I appologize if i offend you, which i dont mean to do, but are you sure that the triple light flash means that it is initially rejected? I just want to make sure because taking the Wii apart was a pain in the ass without a triwing screwdriver, luckily I had a whole set of small screwdrivers which one of the flat head ones worked without destroying the screws, but still was no fun.

I just want to be sure that it needs to be fixed, could it maybe seated wrong or loose? I would very much prefer not to have to soldier those connections unless it is required. Thank you for your help and responses, please don't be offended by my questioning of your suggestion.

no you are not offending me but yes the triple lights means the wii is rejecting the chip.....I too didn't believe it the first time I mod the very first wii with the d2pro modchip, it was so strange that I asked my friends in my country who are seasoned veterans in the modification field they observed it, put it under their scopes etc and concluded it to me until they gave me a rundown on certain things a wii drive do and I was totally shocked because it was so amazing.

Ok I just reopened it, and to correct myself, it is a series of two blinks, red, blue, red, blue, does that have a different signifigance or is it the same thing as 3 blinks?

I also confirm, that when a disk is inserted, that the leds blink once again, red then blue, and then the blue led blinks as the disk is read and i assume as data is passed. Can anyone advise me what the different led blinks mean, i googled everywhere and can not find any information on them.

Now that I have the unit open and exposed, I have tested the 8 or 9 games that I have backups of, and they all work 100% of the time, not a single problem now that I have opened the unit and reseated the wiiclip, however it still cycles two blinks of red, blue, red, blue when i turn it on. I am not sure why it does that but it seams to work while the unit is opened up, i am now going to close everything back up and ensure it still works properly.
