    Us D2Pro 9 V2 w/ Clip - Red Led

    Hello,

Ordered the D2Pro 9 v2 w/ wii clip from www.canadamods.ca last week. I have the d2c wii chipset (D2C w/ numbers below and no "new metal clip" on top of the optical drive).

Installed the chip per instructions from the canadamods video. Powered on the unit for a quick flash from the blue led then the red led stays lit. I have read countless threads about the J wire and clk shorting. I have not tried the J wire fix because I am a newb when it comes to that as I am not comfortable with soldering the wire to the wii pcb.

I have tried shorting the clk(removing the solder). Then soldering the wire to the wii clip. Then I tried pressing the wire against the J point on the wii pcb while turning on the unit. With this I only get a red led that stays lit. When I remove the wire from the J point - I get the quick blue then red led stays on.

Any help would be great and appreciated.

    Pup

Well I think you will have to try the J wire fix if it still not functioning.

Okay, soldered the J points. Powered on the unit and got the inching sound w/ the red led staying on. Inserted an original game and it took(by inching). Wii did not detect the disc and it will not let me eject the disc. I was able to remove the disc and its now back to the inching issue.

That is why I hate the D2pro modchip for........ok...try and see if you can update the firmware using the update disc (downloaded from d2pro website) or purchase a d2programmer and force update the chip with the latest firmware.

Do you know if the chip is updated to the latest 2.3/1.6 update? If not, that may fix it.

If the update still don't solve the issue.....don't leave the chip in the wii if it don't work cause the chip is damaging drives like crazy.

    As taken from canadamods

FIRMWARE Version is 2.3 & 1.6 SPI , Latest firmware, no need to update or buy a programmer at this time.
If you ordered prior to Sept 5th your order may have firmware 2.0 and 1.3 on it, you can check by using the 1.6 config disc.

I ordered around the 12th. As for as trying the update disc, I let the drive inch it in and the wii would not read the disc. Burned the update disc on dvd+r. Same thing as before - could not eject disc, red led stays on.

Well just as I told you, don't leave the chip in the system, it is damaging the drives.
