D2Pro9 w/ Clip RED LIGHT help help

    Hello All:

I just got a D2Pro9 with WiiClip from GMODZ. Fast shipping too by the way. Anyways I seat the chip over my D2E Chip and turn the wii on and the light stays red. Ive been trying to read other forums but they aren't very specific as to what people did to fix this. My drive isn't clicking, I don't think. It spins back and forth it sounds like but then stops, like its checking for a dvd and stops when it sees there isn't one there. Please help me I have my Wii in a thousand pieces on my desk and I really want to get this to work. Thanks!!

    Also,

    1. Only points C-J, and GND and 3V3 are soldered together on the Chip/Clip.
Do the other points need to be soldered?

    2. There is solder over the CLK, should i remove that?

    Thanks

Did you make sure the clip is aligned correctly and is seated firmly, it should almost be touching the pcb of the wii drive. What is the Wii drive type that you have (is it D2E)?

no not really....but if it still not working, get rid of the clip and solder the chip to the drive instead cause it looks like the clip have a manufacturers defect
Thanks everyone for the great support.

don't keep trying to seat the clip or the clip will wear out or the teeth of the clips will be all bent out of shape. To get rid of the solder bridge that is covering CLK, just have a heated soldering iron and quickly wipe it across the blob and it should separate. Remember to apply the soldering iron quickly to the point and not hold it on the point for longer than 1 sec.
