    9 or 13 wires D2Pro

I have been to the D2Pro website and it has great wiring instructions for my chipset (version) - D2C: using 9 wires and then another one showing a 13 wire scheme. Both show the D2C chip

How do you know which one to use?

If you have the D2Pro9 chip then you use the 9 wire installation.

That was for the older D2pro chip.

correct, technically you could convert a 9 wire to a 13 wire with a programmer but there is no reason to go backwards

I have the older 13 wire d2pro with wii clip V4 installed. Used to read all backups flawlessly but recently I have more and more games coming up with black screen/white text to eject disc and refer to manual. Even the original wii sports disc is showing this error. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Appreciate any advice. Thanks

it seems the clip may have slipped out of the chipset or the chip needs updating

@ ralliteknik , it could also be that the laser needs cleaning

Thanks DarkMod and Spyman for the advice on lens cleaning.
I'll try a lens cleaner first, and if that doesn't work, remove and reinsert the wii clip.
