    Help d2pro9 is weird shape?

I have just bought a d2pro9 chip with v3c clip, however the chip turned up with an additional pcb soldered on to the top left of the board. I therefore cannot fit the chip inside the clip. Also the chip looks like the solder points don't line up exactly to the clip points. I cannot find instructions for this specific type of clip. I was thinking of cutting the top corner of the clip so that it fits but then there's still the situation with the lineing up of the solder points. I have included picture

sounds like an older 15 wire D2Pro with the 9 wire upgrade added. Best get onto your supplier and get his reassurance that it'll go on ok

Have been on the phone to the supplier. He hasn't got a clue, said that he's had a few people phone up to find out what to do. He's said that one guy that lives near his place is going to come in and show him the clip. but if it is the old one thats been modded i certainly wouldn't be happy. I paid 44 for the clip and the chip so I would hope that I'd get the latest model for that. If anyone can confirm that it is the older chip that has been modded please could you let me know so that I can send it back
    Thanks

Yes, it is the older d2pro chip converted into D2Pro9 by adding the SPI chip to it. Check out the following which is from the D2Pro site

I'm not 100% sure as I'm new to this lark but that sounds like the least of your worries...... you mentioned a V3C clip - the V3 clip is for a WiiKey anyway. V4 is for D2Pro (what you have but with upgrade) and V4C for D2Pro9.

Can't say I'd be a happy bunny either

You have the latest d2pro chip that supports d2c2 (D2Pro 9 v2) the points align up enough to solder it all together... GND is alrdy in use by the additional part of the board but it also requires to be soldered to the clip...

okay, firstly my apolagize, I do have the v4c clip, thank you echos for your response, after speaking to the supplier he assures me that this is the only d2pro chip that they are being sent so i'm going to have a bash at soldering it now. As you say the ground needs to be soldered to the existing ground, i shall solder a wire from here to the clip ground (as i have snipped the clip at the top between the grnd and it's neighboring point) I will make sure that i insulate this point so that it does not scrape on the back of the addon chip. And just to confirm do i still need to connect j on the clip to j on the wii motherboard? thankyou everyone for your help.

It depends on your drive type (DMS, D2C) etc with my type (DMS) all i had to do was bridge the jumper (found below J on the clip) some drives this is not needed but its rare that you will have to manually connect the chip to the main board when using the wii clip...

Wii Homebrew have an application i believe is called DvDx which allows dvd playback... if your WII is also chipped it can play dvd backups
