    Question regarding using d2pro9 rev2 with v4c on d2c and d2b(cut pins)

Hi guys, I'm a long time lurker and first time poster here. Apologies in advance if this has been answered elsewhere. Basically I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing but I'd just like one of the resident experts here to confirm it for me. I want to install a d2pro9 rev2 modchip on 2 wii consoles using v4c clips. My console is a d2c and my friends is a d2b with the 3 cut legs. So basically for the d2c drive I need to solder points C,D,E,F,G,H,J, GND and 3v3 on the chip to the corresponding points on the clip. And for the d2b drive I just need to solder points G,H,J,GND and 3v3 on the chip to the corresponding points on the clip. Is this correct? Does this 5 point soldering job work for d2b drives with the cut-leg type chip?
    Many thanks in advance.

If you are soldering it yourself then the following from the d2pro site should help

Thanks jbloggs, thats a handy diagram. Do you know if this works for d2b chips with the 3 cut legs?

I'm not sure about that. I suppose it depends on which three legs are cut. If the legs required for soldering are there then it should work. But I will let the experts here confirm that for you.

Thanks for your help mate, much appreciated. I dont think the missing pins are required when using a D2pro9 rev2 chip. I know it is an issue when using a wiikey though, you need to either rebuild the pins or grind down the top of the IC using a dremel to expose the traces..... both of which i would be reluctant to do!! Have a look here to see what I mean: http://www.wiikeyguide.com/images/Wi...-Guide-D2B.pdf
Using a d2pro9 r2 with v4clip would definitely be my preferred solution so if someone could confirm this for me I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Yes this is correct, make sure you block off all the other pads of the chip with electrical tape, so the clip bottom doesnt make contact.

Thanks for the reply spyman, much appreciated. I'm living in Ireland, do you ship internationally?

The link in your last post is for the d2pro9 rev1 with firmware 1.1, does the d2pro9 rev2 work with d2a, d2b and dms if you solder correctly to the clip or does it make any difference what rev chip you use?

I also have a question about firmware. You've probably answered this a million times before so I apologise for asking, but I've read through some other threads related to firmware and they tend to get very confusing.
In your opinion what is the best firmware version, util disk etc. to use with:
    1. d2a, d2b, dms
    2. d2c, d2c2
    3. d2e

    Many thanks.
