its the same firmware as d2c2 I believe but with d2e support added. it has the d2c bug that is now fixed with 2.1 alt on the d2c2, but that will be fixed as well. We are currently waiting for the latest batch to arrive to us but we do carry the d2e for those that do have a d2e and need it. it should be posted on our site later this week.

ok i bought the d2pro9 with a clip but it didnt work cause it was done wrong i have d2e it was made for the d2b so i soldered 4 pins tried it didnt work for 2 reasons 1 it was too loose cause i have tried it so many times before 2 when its on the ic it gives red light and sometimes it doesnt and the driver doesnt work (cant get any games in or out)
so i wanted to do it without the clip but how am i going to know if its going to work (if its going to stop the driver like before) and if it was the firmware how can i update that?

I had my Wii moded with this chip and latest version last month by Canadamods...and according to them my drive is D2E, no problem so far with Verbatim 16X DVD-R made in Taiwan stuff. Only thing is it doesn't seems to like Verbatim DVD+R DL and prefer Memorex DVD+R DL, I still have to investigate further since the Memorex burn nowhere as good as the Verbatim according to Nero CD/DVD quanlity scan.

I too bought a D2PRO V3 2.3+D2E Firmware chip. Installed it and it worked for about a week and now its acting up. It will load a back up, allow you to click start and then it will hang or sometimes post "disk cannot be read". I don't think its the media cause it worked before. I took it apart checked all the 9 soldered point and all checked out good on my meter. Not sure what to do next. Any advise would be great as my kids are scratching up the originals pretty bad.

I have the same issue with some games. I have solderless d2pro9 2.3+D2E, got it installed by CanadaMod.ca.

    Spyman,
Do you have an answer to this issue?

    Smile d2pro9 D2E Problems?

Hi I'm new here but I thought I would post my findings today with the d2pro9 D2E modchip. I've recently made a backup copy of my -0riGiNaL- Guitar Hero World Tour and I would see the game title in the Wii menu screen and as well as the music and the game title in the disc channel would work but soon as I would select start for the game my tv would give my back that horrible black look and thats where my Wii would stay until I rebooted or held in the Power button for a reboot. My firmware is 3.2E as I'm an Aussie, I've also updated my IOS to 249, I removed the update when I made the disc copy so I could stay at 3.2 but still no joy. The only break through I have for you is I am still able to play this game if I use -Backup Launcher- by WiiGator ver 0.3 via my HBC, this little program has been my savour so far. My question now for you guys is there something else that I'm missing with my modchip set that is smack right in my face or not?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mate,
my findings with d2pro's is that they are VERY overatted, they suffer terribly with boot and eject. The chips I find to be faultless are d2sun, D2E A9, funny as they are on the cheaper end of the scale, but far out perform.

Have you had the 5v power mod done to it? This may assist things a little.
    Regards
    Mick

this is infact the media issue. Some lasers are just generally weaker than others which is why you can get mixed results. Initially the laser will be outputting more power/strain to read games even if the media or burn is not to its likely but overtime it will be weakend due to this. Make sure to use good media. verbatim made in singapore or japan is strongly encouraged (dvd-r) and burn speed of 4x using The Official ImgBurn Website and a pioneer 111 burner.
