    D2Pro9 v2 and Wii-clip problem

I installed the clip and had it up and running with no problems. Then three days later I get an error message while playing a backup disc asking me to eject the disc and power off. Ever since then the drive has been completely inoperable, regardless of whether I have the modchip installed or not. With the modchip installed I get a constant flashing of both the red and blue LEDs but the drive motor doesn't load discs. Has this happened to anyone?

FYI, I have firmware version 1.5 running on the chip and I have a D2C Wii.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do most people that buy the D2Pro V2 with the clip also get the programmer? Because I'm still waiting for my chip but I never bought the programmer, however, I've seen alot posted reciently using it. Is this a must have for this chip or a "just in case it dosn't work" kinda thing?

I'm not sure it's a firmware problem since the Wii drive is inoperable even after the modchip is removed. I also don't have a programmer so upgrading to 2.1 isn't something I can do quickly. Any other ideas?

Well, I resolved my problem...and not in a good way. After getting minimal response from ModChipCentral I decided to contact Wii-Clip directly. Great support from them, immediate responses to emails. It appears that the Wii-Clip I purchased from ModChipCentral, which their website claims to be original, is in fact a clone/fake. The clone has known problems for damaging Wii chips, as seen here:

    WII-CLIP for WIIKEY,D2CKEY,D2CPRO,ARGON,D2PRO ......

This is exactly what happened to mine. I'm waiting for a response from ModChipCentral before posting warnings on various boards.

I just received a FAKE from modchipcentral as well. They have not been very helpful in trying to get it sorted. They have no phone number to call and are slow to respond to emails. Their first solution was to offer me a $5 refund. Almost insulting considering that they have possibly caused damage to my brand new Wii.

I email wii-clip as well who only said they would forward my email to modchipcentral.

All and all a VERY bad experience. That god the credit cards are looking out for us and will issue a FULL refund no matter how modchipcentral thinks they will handle it.

Now to find an honest reseller of original d2pro9 v2 and wii-clip. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
