D2Pro9 v2 solderless wont take disks

Hi all, I had this posted in the wrong area:

I just bought the D2Pro9v2 with the v4c wii clip. I'm having an issue that I can't seem to find anyone else having so I'm hoping its something simple. I have the chip snapped onto the board (I guess its on right because I can pretty much pick up the drive by the chip itself), anyway, when I power it on, the light on the chip stays red and I cannot insert a disk at all and the drive makes a faint clicking sound every second or 2. If I remove the modchip, the wii boots and I can put a disk in. The chipset says gc2-d2c, any ideas? I also put the protective label on the underside to prevent it from shorting. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

My problem is I cannot even insert a disk when the chip is connected, I have seen where other people have had this issue but nobody seems to have an answer

I had the same problem although my LEDs were constantly flashing. It turns out my "original wii-clip reseller" (ModChipCentral) sold me a fake that damaged my Wii drive. Hope this didn't happen to you but here is a link to help you.

I'm pretty sure either the chip was broken during shipment or you effed up during installation because they're official resellers of both the wii clip and d2pr09.

Yes.... ModchipCentral just sold me a fake wii-clip as well. They have replied to my email admitting it was a shipment of fakes they got from their dealer. I am trying to get it sorted from them.

I will post again if they swap out the fake clip and d2pro9 or what. So far it seem like the clip works but it didn't seem to fit on the chip very well.

I hope I didn't mess up my Wii by using this fake clip.

BTW, I notified wii-clip that one of their authorized dealers was selling fakes and they didn't seem to care very much. modchipcentral is still listed on their authorized dealer list.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I stand corrected. I just ordered mine the other day. Hope its not a fake or else I'm gonna throw a huge fit. Thanks for letting us know. We should have a review thread for ModchipCentral.

Wow, funny you guys should mention this...

I bought mine from modchip central as well. See this thread:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/d2pro9/4526-...clip-fake.html

I posted a link to a pic of my chip and it does seem like it is a fake, which would probably be my issue, any thought?
