    d2po9 v2 problem

I got my D2pro9 v2 from canada mods and it was working the night I installed it, Monday, I played mario kart for around 20 min that night. Next day I played mario kart for almost 6 hours first 4 hours 30 min it went fine then it came with a disc could not be read error. I restarted the wii and it worked fine for the rest of the hour and a half. Today I went to play mario kart and it gave me an error like 4 times. I played won the mushroom cup and then went on to the next cup and it gave me an error in between. Rebooted tried again, another error after like 15 min. And then every 10 - 15 min after. I burned it using imgburn at 4x and used Taiyo Yuden disks bought from rima.com. They ARE most defiantly original.
Now I burned Super Mario Galaxy using imgburn at 2.4x speed and it gives me an error after a couple mins of playing. Right after I go start the game and bowser is beating the crap out of peaches castle (The cut scene). After that downhill. It tells me to eject and refer to manual. I eject the disk, power still on, it says to put the disk back in. I put it back in and the same message pops up.

    Wth?

I updated the chip to v1.4 too and still same problem. I also changed the read disk speed to 3x and it wouldnt load past the menu, Mario comes up does his super mario galaxy thing and then i press start and bam error.

    Someone help please...

yes, it was modded via wii clip
also didn mention that my wii was bought on june 22nd this year, and for some reason when it gives me this message i press reset on my wii and the blue light that comes when you put in a disc, doesnt go away it just keeps staying on...
Im talking about the blue light around the wii disk, not any lights on the chip. the light that comes when you insert a disk and then goes away. the light when you bought your wii and first put in wii sports and were like oh shit thats hot. ya... that light. it stays on and doesnt go away. even after i eject the disk....

Yeah.. looks like you are having the same
issue as Reezy had with his D2Ckey w/WiiClip ..I ended up installing his chip for him via wires..
I dont think you WiiClip is making full contact with D2C2 chipset on your DVD board..
That's why you are having these issues.. WiiClip.. It works for 2, 3 days..
Then boom.. nothing.. if you like me install it for you.. please check my thread..

not likely the case, you can try reseating the chip/clip though, its possible you didnt put it in correctly, and have put it in on an angle bending some pins perhaps. its very different from a d2ckey scenario though as the d2ckey has many points, the d2pro9 has only 9 points it needs to make contact with so it shouldnt really be an issue. Id recommend opening it and pushing down on it again to see if helps any or not.

I would also try other angles first such as media (even though yours is supposed to be a good one), burner (suggest pioneer), etc. If your wii was new it will play everything initiallly for the first day or two before the laser weakens. We've also tested this effect to know it exists. using TY media though it shouldn't but I would still suggest trying something else if you can.

The fact its loading up initially before going to a dre suggest that the chip/clip is properly done though.

My wii has been doing the same exact thing. I'm very sure I installed it correctly, and did everything according to what the forums says. I even updated to 1.5 on the chip, and guess I will try updating to 1.6...I think that's available. I will try pressing the chip down as well and hope that fixes the problem. It's very annoying to keep changing and putting the disc in and out. I've used several different media as well and all do the same thing.

are you saying that all wii's will have this problem after a while or just the modded ones? i recently purchased a d2e and fitted a pre soldered d2pro with the wii clip and everything has been fine after a week.

i burn using my pioneer burner and panasonic dvd-r at 1x with imgburn. id rather wait a few extra minutes to make sure the data has burnt correctly than do it again and again. i used the same stuff for ps2 backups successfully without any issues for years.

no not really only wiis with the wiiclip installed have these kinda retarded issues but a properly modified wii with the modchip soldered using wires instead works just like a ps2, like a charm. According to my buddy here spiktsu, we don't use wiiclip cause it have too many issues and nothing can't beat a professionally soldered modchip in a wii. Am I right spiktsu?
Thanks everyone for the great support.
Hope to hear from you soon, cause i'm getting ready to retire from the modding scene.

That's is exactly correct! I dont use or would sell these wii-clips cause it's a headache..
it never works right.. it would suck to have these people coming back at me..
"Ahh, my wii doesnt work.." I rather install the chip.. professionally and be done with it
