    Noob question on NSMB game

I am running 4.0u on my Wii now & have the D2pro chip installed.
All burned games work fine except NSMB.

I see on many of the threads there are many issues with this game (i.e. softmodding required, etc). I am by no means a genius at this stuff.

I have 2 copies of the NSMB (one that works with a time limit & the other that requires an update to the Wii).

My question is, if I just go out & buy the actual game at a retailer for my son, will it require my system to update & mess up my Wii (where we can't play any of the burned games).

What Wii version (above 4.0u) is OK to run with this chip? Should I let the Wii update?

    Any help would be appreciated.

i would not update... what you can do as i have seen some people do is mod both ways with a chip and softmod... (dont quote me on it) with softmodding you have a program called priiloader that blocks the sys updates from the disc. unless the chip has a program that you can use on the wii to block the updates... as i am not that familiar with hard mods

OK...so if I go buy the actual NSMB game at Walmart, will it make me update my Wii to play it? Or can I play it without updating the Wii.

    Thanks!

I don't have priiloader or Homebrew on my system yet (only the D2pro chop).
I have read numerous ways to put these on your wii.

Any chance you have the best way (or easiest way) to get these loaded onto your Wii.

Can you send me the link to the tutorial or directions on how to do this.

    Thanks!

I have 4.0u...so I will try out this DOGEGGS tutorial. If I have questions, I may reach out to you again.

    Thanks for your help!

Many Thanks on this...I successfully did not (which is a shock).

    A few quick questions:
    1) Homebrew keeps asking me to update...can I now update since I have completed your list (as your tutorial says not to)

    2) I believe in the past when Wii Connect was on, when my kids hit the power button on the wii (the status light went to yellow) & all of the controllers would still continue to charge when the Wii was on standby (I assume because the Wii Connect was still on). Your tutorial says to keep the Wii Connect Off. When I do this, the power light goes to red & nothing charges until you turn the wii back on. Is there a work around so I can still charge my controllers while the wii is off? Or is is OK now to turn Wii Connect back on?

    3) Now that I have finished the soft mod, can I change from a 2GB SanDisk SD card to a PNY 4GB HCSD card? If so, do I just copy & paste everything over to this new card? I tried the 4GB HCSD card initially & the soft mod would not work (which is why I used the 2GB SD card).

    Again, many thanks!

OK...I figured out #1 above...I just let my homebrew update.

Can anyone help me out with questions #2 & #3?

    Many thanks!
