lu570689xxx need a bit of help from the modding gurus

my sn is lu570689xxx i have done some mod work in the past
(like 6 X boxes 2 ps2s) i have found research is allways best so that is what i am doing i have found a few things i dont understand like wen i type my sn here "wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com" it says

"There is a 50% chance that your drive chip is a GC2-D2C

There is a 50% chance that the pins on your drive chip are not cut."

can it still be moded if they are cut and if it is not a GC2-D2C?

i am guessing i am going to have to open it to tell for sure. i am olny holding off doing so because i think i will be needing a TRI-WING Screwdriver and i yet to have one

is there a way to open the wii with out one ?

also the chip i am looking at is "Authentic D2CKey" with
"PCBFlex for D2CKey" from what i read it is hard to mod a GC2-D2C i am guessing that is with out the pcb flex it looks like with it i just have to line it up real good is there any solder at all with it? i cant seem to find a install guide for it. thanks for any help you can give me

    p.s.
if you know a better mod chip or one that will be ezer to install what one explain how and why

you definately have a d2c board and its the new ones.....since ru serial number is above lu566 u might have the new d2c2 board...you can read more about this new board here

Unmoddable Wiis? D2C - WiiNewz Forums

just wait 1-2 weeks and we will have the new d2pro9s that work on the new d2c2 boards which are currently unmoddable. now there is a 50% chance yours is moddable with the current chips available but the only way to tell is to actually do the mod.

    d2c or d2c2???

best is to get yourself a tri-wing screwdriver and open up your Wii to identify your chip...either d2c or d2c2. just to be sure, before buying yourself unusable mod chip. just a thought.

it was my understanding there was no way to tell the d2c from the d2c2 with out a mem dump ......... also i thought that the new d2pro9s would work with both the d2c and the d2c2 with the same 9 wire install..... if i am wrong pls let me know

unmoddable identifier sticky in forum still holds true.

the d2pro9 will work with the d2c atm and will work with the d2c2 in about a week or so when the new fw is released
