Hi there, guys, i have a nintendo Wii, and i finally have enough money for a modchip ) Yes, i know, that the topic is lame, but i'm really new in this stuff..
So, first of all, i want to ask about the chip - which one i should get for my Wii? My console's serial number is LEH156891705. I've heard something about d2ckey, but i'm not very sure.
And if something goes wrong, can it "brick" or something like this?! Can i update my software effortlessly?
And finally - from where can I buy a chip? I've visited sites like [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register] , but as i said, i'm new in this stuff, so i wasn't very sure what should i get.

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2C.
Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut.
D2Ckey will definitely work for you unless your wii is one of those new unmoddable one that just came out recently. I have a GC2-D2C wii and D2CKey. It's working flawlessly for me. All the new games like Mario kart wii and stuff.
And I don't think you can "Brick" your wii by messing up in the progress of modding. If you mess up while soldering the modchip in you morelikely to destroy your wii totally XD. Brick only happens if you play a different region game backup without wii brickblocker. My personal recomendation to you is the Solderless D2Ckey or Wii clip for d2pro modchips. They can be found at mod-chip.biz (where i got my solderless d2ckey) or techsick.net is very trust worthy.
Oh, I'VE GOT A TERRIBLE PROBLEM! My console can't read Bully, Metroid Prime 3, Tony Hawk... I updated it from the metroid prime disk.. But some games are working fine, nfs pro street for example and residen evil umbrela chr.. please, can someone help me?
hi all. my sister bought a wii about a month ago. i opened it up and the chip says GC2-D2C the serial number is LU56378226
so my question is, will it work with D2Ckey + wii-clip? thanks in advance.
chances are you got one of the D2C2 chip and at this point i would recommend using the D2Pro9V2. It has far more superior advantage over teh old d2ckey. iF I didn't have a d2ckey already i'll go with teh d2pro9v2 and wii clip.
is there a way to find out if it is D2C2? i already bought a D2Ckey + wii-clip and i have tried it but it doesn't seem to work, but i don't know if its just me thats not putting it correctly..
