I can't get past step 3.
When I go to SD Card, my Wii just freezes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have homebrew channel installed, but when it loads I see a screen that shows possible devices to choose from.. If I try to choose the SD card it doesn't do anything.. I've tried with multiple SD Cards..
Actually still messing with it.. HomeBrew Loads and I click Start.. It just sits there forever...
System says 4.2u

Can the game play with dvd-r or it has to load into the hard drive?
I`ve d2pro chip installed.
Can I still be able to play other back up game if it updated to 4.1u?

Works, but still locks up
Hi, I followed these instructions and was able to load neogamma from the HBC. I have 4.0u and updated HBC as instructed. I tried using the neogamma r8 beta 7 and kept getting a black screen (lock up) then had to manually reboot after about 2 levels of play. I dont know much about the beta versions but tried beta 15 and now I'm not getting the full black screen but back to the "An error has occured. Press the eject...."
I had updated the firmware from 3.2 to 4.0 awhile ago and havnt done anything other than that with the wii. Is there anything else I should have done? I read a lot about cIOS updates but dont even know if that applies to me.
So youa ctually need the new super mario burned disc to play or you can jsut play off the the sd card?
i've been trying to figure out how to get new super mario wii onto the wii console but i haven't beena ble to bc i cant' find the files to put onto the usb
I had the same issue, but I found this file:
Download and rename it to smnp01.dol
Place the file in the Neogamma folder on your SD card (Neogamma folder in root of SD card).
Within neogamma--> config , change it to have an alternate .dol on SD card.
Worked for me !
I have D2Pro, 4.2E and Neogamma 8 v15 (v15 I think)

Hello! I am new on this forum and got a question. Does this guide work on a european console (PAL) as well or is there any difference?
this should work for PAL, too.
Don't even need any chip. No idea, why the thread is telling something about d2pro. Just vistit The Homebrew Channel and go to FAQ section. The procedure is called softmodding or homebrew. Ain't quite undangerous. But on 4.1 and instlalling BootMii in boot2 (works rarely) + NAND backup, nothing should go wrong.
i'm with a very strange problem. My wii doesn't even recognizes the disc. In the disk channel, it gives the message "the disc could not be read". In Neogamma and Gecko, it says "no DVD". I'm with D2C and i don't know what to do. I haven't heard anyone with a problem like mine.

Are you using an 1:1 copy of NSMB and not one of the nuked releases found on the internet (patched or scrabbed)?
If this tut still do not work, use an 1:1 copy. And then use one of the 3 methods wih Neogamma or an USBLoader like USBLoaderGX:
1. Ocarina cheatcodes
2. WIP patch
3. BCA Patch (Usb loader only)
