    D2Pro9 v2 ModChip and NEWER games requiring "Wii System Update"

    First Hello to ALL this is my first post !!!!

    Have a question regarding "Wii System Updates" when some of the NEWER games I purchased are inserted into the Wii.

    It first started with the game "Animal Crossing" at which time I did not update, have never played the game.

    Now I starting to get more of the "Wii System Update" when inserting some other NEW games we recently purchased. Such as "UP!" and "Boom Blox - Bash Party".

    My premodded Wii was purchased from ModChipCentral with a D2Pro9 v2 ModChip.

    Here is how my Wii is currently configured from what I see in the menus:
    • Wii OS ver 3.3U (think it originally came with 3.2 but my son inadvertently did a "Wii System Update" from a game, not sure whice one)
    • HBC Beta 9 IOS36 (I added, think I started with v8)
    • Gecko OS 1.07b (I added, it was working till my son did the update, now I get a not valid Wii app msg)
    • Also own a Gecko USB

    I don't really use the HBC or Gecko OS that much, my son just wants to play the games that I recently purchased (listed below) for him using just the D2Pro9 v2 ModChip ONLY !!!

    * Animal Crossing
    * UP!
    * Boom Blox - Bash Party

    If I accept the "Wii System Updates" will my console continue to keep working ? ? ? Really worried about bricking the console !!!!

    EDIT: Console was purchased on 10-7-2008, not sure but according to chipset DB look-up there is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C2 (v2) and the drive has the new metal clip

    Thanks in advance for any Help or Advice you can offer

    Answer:
    Yes it is ok....if you accept the Wii System Updates from a game made for the same region as your wii. ..no bricking.

    Some of your HB stuff is screwed just as it was before with the last update.

    Thx so much for the reply ModderMan

    So currently there is NO HBC Update at this time to handle the NEW 4.0 System Update ?

    BTW: I did NOT do the Wii 4.0 update, but did do the HBC update (think it was 1.0.3) and installed a newer version of the Gecko Loader (v 1.8) which allowed me to bypass the "Wii System Update".

    Again thx so much for your time in answering my n00b questions ... ;-)

    Regards
    AX
