So, after repeated attempts with the D2Pro9 v3 and wii-clip v4C (which strangely has V3C molded into the plastic), I finally got a red and blue LED to light. First 3 tries resulted in a solid red LED and inching. That little bugger is quite picky about being properly seated. I was hoping there would be more of a definite snap or click once the clip is properly mounted.
Oh well...so far so good. Now to try out some discs.

Everyone is different, some get it right on the first time, and others need to try it out a few times, glad it worked out though. A lot of times if its not put on right the first time theres some problems and can end up being very tricky to get working then.
If you need any media recommendations the verbatim dvd-r made in japan or singapore works well.
