Hi all

head over to d2pro website.
They got new firmware (v2.3)that fixes the eject and inching issues on D2C drives
They also got a new utility disc (v1.6)

I just purchased my D2Pro9 v_3 two weeks ago and installed it. I am assuming that it has the old firmware, but I don't have a programmer to upgrade the firmware. I have a few questions...

Is the 1.6 util disk compatible with older firmware on the V3?

Is there any way to tell what version of firmware I have on my D2Pro9?

Thanks,
-J

The v1.6 utility disc can be used by all versions of the D2pro.
The utility disc will also tell what version chip you have and what version firmware is installed.

so i just downloaded the [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] from the d2pro site. this is my first look at any wii utility disc and have some questions.

the disc burned/loaded into wii and i was able to see the various settings. but what do they all mean?

my chip came with "d2pro firmware which is 2.4/1.6" from ozmodchips. i just don't know which settings to change (and more importantly what they each mean/do). can anyone shed some light on this?

thanks.

v1.7 Utility Disc - USA region

I just loaded the v1.7 USA region utility disc on my modded wii. Prior to installation, the utility disc showed that I had a D2E with HW2.4 and FW 1.7.
I guess that means that I had 2.4 Hardware and 1.7 Firmware - I am not too sure.

I modded my wii about 2 months ago. I have a D2E with a D2PRO9 V3 + Wii-CLIP V4C.The d2PRO came with the 2.4/1.6 firmware.

After installing the v1.7 I got the screen shown below.

I am not too sure what all these options are. Any comments would be appreciated.

nice jesp... those were the settings in which i was referring to. dont understand why d2pro doesnt explain things a bit better on their site... at least include a detailed explanation in the download.

REGION PATCHER---ON/OFF..............Allows region free operation
AUDIO FIX---ON/OFF................Fixes problems with audio streaming in GC games
ORIGINAL READ SPEED..............Allows you to select the read speed of original discs
ORIGINAL DL READ SP...............Allows you to select the read speed of Dual Layer Originals
BACKUP READ SPEED................Allows you to select the read speed of backup discs
DL BACKUP READ SP.................Allows you to select the read speed for Dual Layer backups
ALLOW SYSTEM UPGRADE USA/ALL/NONE............Lets you decide what Wii Menu upgrades will be accepted (NONE--recommended)

After making changes remember to save settings.

Hope this helps
