Has anyone tried to update to 4.0 yet ?

Nothing that I have read about anyone with a D2Pro upgraded to 4.0 I'm gonna wait until someone can find a way to add the features of the 4.0 update on 3.2 I really don't want Nintendo to be able to auto-upgrade my wii whenever they feel like it, enjoy Homebrew too much

you can upgrade and downgrade at anytime via custom ios downgrader...only thing that does not work is starfall 3.2 only as you already know..preloader seems the best bet..or even menu loader works just fine..sd launcher is cool

I would like to know too. I have D2CPro with 3.4u right now, and my wii wants to update the system. Will updating to latest firmware stop me from playing my backups?

EDIT: So I am assuming that the update doesn't affect the chip or playing backups. I don't use HBC or anything else besides backups.

You can still play your backups, but hbc wont run

if you do not use...HOMEBREW...why are worried about upgarde!!! Maybe you should just check if your chip is future proof...can it be updated..firmware etc...if i was you i would install HBC...LAST CHANCE FOR TWILIGHT....get a custom ios installed..and a back up luancher...so if you chip stops working in the future...you can still play your games via homebrew...call it insurance for your wii.....

Any Modchip and firmware 4.0 will work, backups work fine. If you care about homebrew 4.0 blocks this off so you will need to install via custom ios

i recently did the 4.0u update. I have a Wasabi Zero chip and HBC installed, and I have had NO problems whatsoever. The funny thing happened the other day, i made a backup of Madworld and went to play it and got a black screen. I reset the wii and figured I'd try loading it with gecko (1.07b), and when it loaded i got a disc error 002. So when i was gettin ready to try patching the game, i read there was no system update....I know everyone always says don't do the updates if its modded, but I'm a risk taker, so i said fuck it why not?!? Needless to say I'm happy I did the update...the backed up games I once needed to use gecko os to load, I now no longer need to use gecko to load them, they all load right from the disc channel!!!

So for any of you guys out there who wanna take the risk, I say go for it.
