inquiry

Hello. I have a NTSC wii with a D2PRO chip. I have been some problems lately with some burnt games. After I click on the game, the screen goes black and just sits there. It looks like a few people on this forum are having the same problem. My Wii is at version 3.3U. Am I safe to update my wii in hopes of curing this problem?

Thanks

You are having this problem BECAUSE you updated your wii. 3.3 and above check for trucha signed games and that's why you get a black screen. Downgrade to 3.2, and install all the other stuff while you're at it. That's your only solution.

[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

PS If you don't know what trucha signing is, it just means to edit a part of the game and then 'resign' it with a fake signature since editing the game seems to break some sort of seal. It's just resealing the game iso.

True
But to install Gecko OS or any other WADs he will need the Homebrew Channel. While he's at it, why not downgrade as well?

3.2 allows Starfall, while 3.3 does not.

3.2 allows the installation of WADs, while some versions of 3.3 do not.

But Gecko IS really good, so @cped - install that while your at it.

i put on starfall, i love not needing to worry about bricking my wii, but best of all is skipping the health screen and muting that menu music, really who needs to hear it after an hour of living with it???

Thanks for the input! I checked out that guide, and it really does not make any sense to me. Can someone "idiot proof" it for me please?

Thanks
Chris
