Can I run some how wad files or HBC on 3.4U with D2Pro withoud downgrade?

We all don't like to do things. But if we want to do something right, we have to do it no matter what.

My point is, listen to billyhome. Downgrading is essential if you want to run your .wad files.

Install your homebrew. Just don't select the downgrade option. It is ADVISABLE to downgrade and block upgrades though because many games has stopped working with the d2pro chip on 3.4U. I had it. It was annoying that I couldn't use half my games anymore. I've down graded and everthing works great again.

Am I correct in stating that if wii_one is having problems with d2pro on 3.4U that his backups are not truly 1:1 backups (ie. they have been modified). If not, that's the first I've heard of d2pro and 3.4U being a problem, especially with half the games as stated above.

Yes, My "true" backups are the ones that work fine under 3.4U.

But since he was asking about wad files, I didn't want to get off topic.

If you want to run WADS on 3.4, I would strongly recommend running the wads via Homebrew channel or WADS verified to work (no banner bricks etc).......... at present there is NO WAY to recover a bricked wii from 3.4

It can be done but again I say... " I wouldn't "

Here's how to do it

1) put wadmanager 1.3 in apps

2) put IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad in the folder .WAD -- google it , its pretty easy to find ..

3) run wadmanager 1.3 and install the ios16.wad

4) put wadmanagerios16 under apps - google wadmanagerios16 .. also easy to find.

5) run wadmanager16 and install cios249 rev7 .. now go back to wadmanger 1.3 and it will work just fine.
