D2Pro solderless.... Success!
Just wanted to post a big Thank You to everyone here and for the install video - couldn't have been easier.
One issue I did run into and a google search saved me..
After I had installed the D2pro I went to test it out. Well.. my version lit up Red, blue, red, blue really really fast... the video shows a slow Red.... Blue... so, I just wanted to be sure it was working ok. So, I took my screwdriver and attempted to rehit the power switch after unplugging and plugging back in the power cord.... and the whole unit just went dead.
I tried unplugging the cord, replugging, etc... nothing.
Now, I'm fuming at myself and not happy that I shorted out the unit... so I unplugged the D2pro, put the whole unit back together and figured I'd need to buy a replacement. Then, I did a google search and someone mentioned they did the same thing but let the unit sit for an hour, tried it again and it worked.
So, after 30 mins.. I tried it again.. and lo and behold.. it worked again!
I took it apart again, put in the chip, tested (using a pen cap this time!) and put it all together.. put in a burned ISO backup and voila.. success!
So, just wanted to share in case anyone else thinks they fried/bricked their Wii this way... it may work.. just give it time!
