Us New Wii with Black Glue.

Time for me to purchase a Mod chip. Would anyone recommend trying to remove Black glue. Or would I be better off Purchasing new drive with Mod chip installed.
Also any preference on chips.
Thanks jma375hh

no need for new drive...just get the premodded wiikey2 dvd drive pcb...simple as hell to install...comes with triwing screwdriver and shipping...in stock

we just had to send back our batch of drivekeys....bte they do not offer all the same features.

Thank guys but maybe I did not make my first post clear about the Black goo I understand Nintendo started applying a black glue around the area the Mod chip goes. Preventing installation of such chip. I read were some people are heating the glue up and removing it carefully. then in stalling mod chip. So that's my question should I try removing it or just buy a drive all set up. I looked those links over and I think the black goo would still need to be removed.

you can either remove it somewhat and solder, completely and clip or get a new one

If you are planing on buying a new drive then try and remove the epoxy anyway. Take your time and I would recommend using paint stripper. Once it is removed then consider soldering it.

I would not recommend epoxy removal and then a clip. You need to either remove the epoxy and solder or just get a premodded drive.

Understand that the premodded drive will cost a lot more than removing and installing the chip. But not if you wreck your drive during the install. But if you do then your not paying much more.

Us Thanks for the info.

Ill look it over and see, but I am thinking a modded drive might be the way to go. if you all have a favorite you think is the best please let me know, in the mean time I 'll be doing my home work on the matter.

U could remove the epoxy but then again the're flatmod and flatmii which is solderless and easier to install and doesn't move around like wiiclip.
