I hope this doesn't violate any of the policies on this site. I own Goldeneye for N64 but don't have the system to play it on (but I own a WII!). I've seen a video on the internet of someone "injecting" the game into a WAD for installation and playing it. Would this be considered homebrew? Considering we install custom IOS files and customize system menu's and whatnot I thought it would be a fair question to ask. If anyone has any info please share. Thanks :)
Injected WADs are definitely not homebrew. IMO to qualify as homebrew it would require no proprietary code or data what so ever. An injected WAD could count as piracy on two fronts I guess. The original VC game and the ROM that are used.

1. Owning the GAME and having the ROM is ok!!! (but we cant prove it)
2. Injecting ROMS is easy but the sucessrate SUCKS!! and the obtaining of wii vc/wiiware to inject into is ILLEGAL
so im going to go with nada on posting links and asking for them to be injected for you...

Yeah, good point about that. I don't want to risk doing anything illegal (which is just unclassy, come on now). So i will just wait til the remake drops :)
I wasn't giving a piracy lecture BTW. Just a thought running through my head at the time. Personally I've always stayed clear of injected VC games and injecting them myself for fear of a banner brick. I know a banner brick isn't the worst of things but why risk it. Emulators are a lot safer way to cure my old school itch.
the other part is, that goldeneye isnīt on the virtual console... I you got the game, I donīt see why you wouldnīt be able to get a rom of goldeneye
yeah, the emulator I've been trying to use "Wii64" Hasn't had much luck running goldeneye (real slow framrate, known issue. It gets better with each updated release). But it's all good. I just saw the video (from 2 years ago) and thought to ask and see. But I don't intend on pirating or illegally playing it on the wii. :)
That is really nice to hear. I get so sick of newbies only concerned about how they can download free games. For awhile I started giving some pretty harsh responses to anyone who asked. Krank (really nice guy, btw) told me just ignore them and let the staff deal with it. Occasionally I forget, but I realize that it isn't my responsibility to yell at pirates, although I think if I didn't hold anything back I could have them sailing in a sea of tears (and proud of it! ;)).Quote:
