Always patch the file it tells you to, so GBA Rainbow Road patch rainbow_course.szs but replace it to desert_course.szs/desert_course_d.szs (Dry Dry Ruins Single/Multi).

Otherwise doing what you mentioned above (rainbow_course,rainbow_course_d, as well as desert_course) you would replace MKWii Rainbow Road Single/Multi + Dry Dry Ruins Single.

So is there also an order to follow ? SNES rainbow road gets patched also. So we will have to do GBA first so that it doesn't alter the final rainbow course? ( yeah I turned a statement into a question)

That's ok I'll give kind of a quick summary hopefully to clear it up, using those two courses as an example:

    • Extract rainbow_course.szs with Wiiscrubber
    • Download SNES Rainbow Road
    • Download GBA Rainbow Road

    For SNES Rainbow Road
    • Open rainbow_course.szs in SZS Modifier
    • Select Import Netsafe Patch
    • Apply SNES Rainbow Road
    • Save as whateverblabla.szs
    • Replace rainbow_course.szs with whateverblabla.szs in Wiiscrubber

    For GBA Rainbow Road
    • Open rainbow_course.szs in SZS Modifier
    • Select Import Netsafe Patch
    • Apply GBA Rainbow Road
    • Save as whateverblabla.szs
    • Replace desert_course.szs with whateverblabla.szs in Wiiscrubber

Doing this will replace Wii Rainbow Road with SNES Rainbow Road, and replace Dry Dry Ruins with GBA Rainbow Road.

Now obviously if you want to also get the multiplayer versions of those two courses patched, you follow the exact same instructions but at the end also replace the tracks of the same name that end in _d with the same file you used for the ones without _d.

Edit: And I forgot to mention, see because you're saving the hacked file under a different name you can use the same source rainbow_course.szs file without having to worry about overwriting anything. This is why I keep a hacked szs folder and an original szs folder.

Thanks, I believe I have everything just right now, as far as the GP tracks. I had a little trouble patching GBA sky gardedn to factory course but got through it. I had to delete it (GBA) and redownload it. I kept getting an error as far as invalid patch.(Try redownloading them Emuhack) It was showing 8 files during error, eventually it patched but containd 11 files..

I patched my first track, worked like a charm. But it's so time consuming, so I downloaded all the required custom tracks and tomorrow I'll work on patching the tracks in the ISO.

Yeah I downloaded all my patches the day prior also, and got a game plan ready, LOL. I saved a backup before sending it to HDD. Extracted as Cios via wbfs gui just to see.(2.37GB).

I was trying to patch a .szs and kept getting an error. I then re-downloaded the custom track and the second time I downloaded the custom track the file was larger, so I had a bad download the first time. Just in case anybody has the same problem.

    edit -
But it still didn't work. So I re-download the space road rc3 again for the third time and get even a different file size, 3 downloads of the same track and 3 different file sizes, what gives?

Thanks for mentioning that guys. I never had that problem but it's good to know. I made a note in the guide.
