Is the modified ISO going to overwrite my game save, wouldn't want to overwrite my game save that took years to create.

It won't overwrite your progress, but any stats that get collected on the new tracks will integrate with your save file. So lets say you're racing on SNES Rainbow Road (which replaces the original MKWii Rainbow Road). The track takes a little longer to finish than the original because of the way they integrated it, but your time trial recordings won't know the difference. So anything you do will get merged in with your existing stats. But your already acquired trophies/stars and unlockables will remain intact and unaltered.

On a side note, I'm not sure if it's possible to record ghosts. I haven't tried. I know that racing any already-existing ghosts on a modified track will cause them to run into walls, fall off sides, etc.

Will the link you provided for creating a different game code allow for 2 seperate saves? My HDD version was pal forced and the patched was a direct ntsc rip so I was able to put them both on my HDD. I didn't use the link but still curious.

You mean the iso renamer tool? No I'm pretty sure it doesn't it just renames the iso, I'll check though. If you're using PAL and NTSC then you should have 2 save files already.

I don't like downloading games, but if I have to get a pal ISO to make a seperate save game, then that would be good. I could also get a custom cover for the PAL version. But if the ISO renamer tool will make it so the ISO creates a different save game that would be better.

Just checked, it doesn't. Same save file. So I think the only options would be to keep both the original and hacked iso on your drive and use a different license on the save file for the hacked tracks, or use 2 different-region isos each with their own save file. Or you could use savegame manager to extract and replace your save file as needed, but that seems like more work than it's worth.

    Cheers for that. Thanks.

And by the by for anyone, I patched in the new track called Thwomp Cave today. That track is awesome. Lots of thwomps, lava rising out of nowhere, interesting turns, and a jump that you'll probably miss the first time. I did anyway lol.

I've been watching this thread for a few days now and its peaked my interest. Sounds like fun. Maybe we could make a list of patched tracks so that everybody can have the same tracks and organize some races some time.

    Still the same problem?!?!?!?

Hi again :S I've been playing around with the same problem for the last day and a half with no progress I have about 4 completely different Mario Kart ISOs and still have the same problem with each. I tried loading my other game ISOs too and they ALL have approx. 140 MB with 0 files but all games work. I'm completely baffled so if anyone could shed me a little light, it sure would make my day .

Here's what I get when loading, I highlighted what I find "Funny"

P.S. still can't put pic directly on page lol, must it be on a site?
