Help please - Unable to play DVD's (Using Mplayer and others)

    Hi all,

Like the title states i'm currently unable to play any DVD's with a mod on a Wii. I installed DVDX and also tried Mplayer CE and a few downloaded players from the homebrew network and none would work with any DVD's.

The steps and files I used were from this tutorial:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html

My wii version is 4.2 and I believe the neoGamma i'm running for games is something like r7?? I'm a big n00b to this, I apologize. As for the Mplayer I cannot even remember the version.

In mplayer when I try to load a DVD it just hangs, then boots me back to the menu. If anyone has any suggestions or anything to help i'd appreciate it!

    thanks in advance!

I had the same problem! but managed to solve it. Here's how I did it. Open the preloader menu and go to system menu hacks and enable the one to stop dvdx, haxx etc being deleted from your system. Then i used the bannerbomb exploit again and just installed the dvdx part and hey presto mplayer has worked perfectly and i find it best playing them off the sd card or usb hard drive. Let me know how you go on?

Ok so I tried loading the priiloader with the tutorial I listed in my original post, and it won't work. On priiloader it says ios v70 and systemmenu v481.

When I click system menu hacks off menu it says "Couldn't find any hacks for System Menu version:v481" is there a diff version of the files and the loader I should use? my priiloader is v0.2(r30).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Cheers.

    Ca

hello there. I had the same problem earlier today with priiloader. I was using a hacks.ini that I had downloaded and for some reason it was not working, giving me the same message you got.

What I had to do was go to Preloader/hacks - WiiBrew and copy the text on 4.2u (my version of the system menu) and make my own hacks.ini

remember to disable hiding known extension files on windows explorer or you will end up with a hacks.ini.txt

I put the file in my sd card and when i went to the system menu hack it worked.

One problem that I havent solved was that it will always boot to priiloader even if I change the configuration. Apparently I can solve this problem updating the priiloader but i decided to not mess with this since Im having the same problem you are with the mplayer (one problem at a time).

    I hope this helps.

You need the hacks.ini for your version. Read this link and download the hacks.ini and put it in the root of your sd and then follow the previous instructions to get mplayer working. http://www.wiihacks.com/wiihacks-new...acks-v481.html
