trucha bug and wii system menu

Ok I have a problem.. Well I dunno maybe it is a problem maybe not.

I WAS on system menu 4.1. I mean I never checked it but I could have SWORN I was on 4.1. I upgraded twice once to 4.0 for wii sports and once for 4.1 for beatles.

I just did the trucha bug restore so I could possible run either startpatch or preloader or both. I couldnt get them to work so tried banana patch and couldnt get that to work. I was trying to figure out which hack file to use and I needed to know if I needed 4.1u or 4.1e (I assumed u for united states).. Soo I went to settings and lo and behold it says 4.0u..

Umm how did I get back to 4.0?? Does trucha bug restore do that??? Did I miss a step or something in the process???

How can I get back to 4.1???

I tried both wii sports resort and beatles and neither complained about needint to upgrade..

Is this 4.0u different than the 4.1 that I thought I had or are they not complaining cause I had upgraded and they think I still am or maybe that part of the banana patch worked..

I feel my system is in an unknown state right now and do not like it although everything seems to be working except startpatch and preloader but maybe that is cause I was suppose to be at 4.1 and I am at 4.0??

There is a difference between 4.0 and 4.1. Each version is followed by a region letter, yours is u for USA. You could stay on 4.2u or use this guide to upgrade to 4.1u.

ok somehow there was some misunderstanding here.

I am not on 4.2 that I can guarantee. I was SUPPOSE to be on 4.1 but after doing trucha I now appear to be on 4.0??? At least that is what the wii settings says..

Trucha Bug restorer, Wii Sports Resort and Beatles would not have updated you to 4.0 or 4.1. An update message may have come up on the screen but they would have just updated your game IOS 53, 55. You must have updated yourself using either Nintendo update or a Waninkoko update to get to 4.0. No game disc updates to 4.0 and only one updates to 4.1 and that's a Japanese game only.

It was a typo on my part it should have read 4.1u. Sorry for that, but the guide does say update to 4.1.

When I out the disks in it said you need an upgrade in order to run this so I went to the wii menu and did an update.. Would that not have put me at 4.0 and than 4.1..

My qeustion still goes unanswerewd. If I was at 4.1 would installing trucha bug and patched iso60 downgrade me to 4.0?

changing your IOSes does not downgrade/upgrade your system menu, as far as I know.
