4.2 shop channel in 4.1U wii not working
I think Nintendo might be checking System version and shop channel version. Because it gives a region error message when I have v18 NUS Shop channel. When I put NUS v16 back in it asks for update. Anybody having this problem or is my v18 NUS Shop channel no good.

Newbie here....i installed homebrew,,,seems to be alright,,,,when installing the custom IOS i get ONE error message "Installing Custom IOS >Install Error (ret=1035),,,,then when trying to install NeogammaR7 into Wad manager Channel it Freezes,,,,does nothing!,,,the page displays as follows;
Select IOS Version to use <IOS249>,,,locked at 249!
Press A button to continue,,,,,locked! nothing happens.
The only way to get it back to the main menu is to power it down.
I have been trying to solve this for at least 8 hours but no clue what i'm doing,,,,,anyone out there have any ideas of how to solve my delima?
Just to let everyone know that after updating to 4.2, my wii would no longer run pirate wiiware and VC from the SD card. I used DOP-IOS and download the latest IOS70 (which was lower than the one I had) and it fixed it.
Also I had to install PriiLoader and not preloader, installing preloader made my wii not even read my large SDHC cards. I think its because it patched IOS36 so I did a nand restore and used priiloader instread. Every thing is cool now........
This is very good news!!!!,,,,Are u able to run games on DVDR or do you use USB?,,,,,would it be possible to give a brief clear cut step by step proceedure on your successful install so us Newbies don't spend like eternity to get it going?

4.2 Upgrader works, boot2 untouched, hbc still there and all channels and games still work, thanks.
Always good to see sucess relating to 4.2
As usual with this type of thing, I lack the ability to give a damn and I just generally go for it. This being of no exception and of course I disregarded the age old rule of "if it ain't broke" and followed my usual don't give a damn stance, all to be rewarded with........1-2-3 BOOM, it worked, HBC still running, Wiishop works no worries and usbloader works no worries. Thanks! 4.2E and it all still works. Ha ha, I even download BBC iPlayer!
On a more serious note, thanks for all the great people out there that made this possible, I mean there must be some double clever people out there doing this stuff. Good times.
On another note.....I had previously upgraded to wiiflow from config-usb-loader today as after upgrading to version 57a of config-usb-loader nothing would load without the "ehcmodule3.elf" error, which I was getting sick of trying to sort out. Have to say wiiflow is much better and the skin package is really good. Had a few problems with it dropping connection through DD-WRT on wireless, but managed to get it online (hence me updating to 4.2) and I downloaded the 3d covers. I also updated to cIOS38rev19 after being stubborn enough to not upgrade from cIOSrev14 for a long time. All seemed to run pretty smooth through YAMM after WAD Manager 1.5 would refuse to load after another error! I guess today was a day of errors.
I have to say the safe4.2 updater was a pleasure to watch....all that linux jiggery-pokkery! It does take a long time, so grab a beer or something (or a cup of tea if it's before midday).
P.S. I think a few ciders helped my decision to just go for it and half explains the jibber-jabber above and the risk of doing an online version update with a flaky wireless connection after a day of Wii errors!! ha ha ha, I love a bit of risk.
I love this site!
This is the first time I've ever seen you online demo777, If you're ever in Ohio I'll buy you a beer for your GH5 guide.
