Adding backups as channels

Hello all.

I am now using Neogamma USB loader with all my backups, without having any particular issue.

My younger brother (6 years old) cannot of course easily use it, and its options when needed; I can help him sometimes, but I'm not always at home of course ! I'm also afraid that he could screw up my setup, which now works like a charm.

I was therefore wondering if there is any program that allows me to create a channel for each backup, so that they can be easily run (and if needed personalized, like the ERR002 option for Sports Resort) without having to launch them via the USB loader.

Unfortunately, there isn't a program that will allow you to do this. In fact, I dont think the wii would even be able to hold a backup as a channel.

Doesn't the new WBFS (version 3.0) manager have something that can do this? I think it makes a forwarder channel to the specific game on the WBFS drive. I could be mistaken tho...

I think it's a fowarder channel that has the boot.dol on the sd card but the channel loads the boot.dol from the sd card, im not sure either, i never used usb loader.

After playing around with WBFS Manager 3.0 you can create a channel that forwards to your loader and auto starts the game. The channel will display the image, sound and banner of the actual disc if you were to load it through the disc channel. However you need a common-key.bin file and a blank wad file to do this. It works well (for me anyways). If you need help check the discussion at the WBFS site. Also since the wad is forwarding to a .dol file on the SD card make sure your SD card is in your Wii

Why not just use USB loader GX? I just set it up on my wii for my 8 y.o. daughter. You can configure each game to set-up as it needs to and then save the settings. So now my daughter just has 2 clicks to start playing a game. The first is the USB loader GX channel/forwarder, the second being the game she wants to play! Thats it! I use to stress about the same issues of having my daughter mess up something, but with this USB loader GX I'm able to sleep at night now! :-D

I personally always use the USB Loader GX forwarder wad for myself however I don't like leaving my SD card in my system when my kids play on the wii. They could go in to something they shouldn't and brick my wii. So i use it as a saftey percaution. Another thing I gave the kids their own SD card and these channels load off it as well.

I have used this guide with no problems at all to make channels for my backup games, i was surprised how easy it was.

Also here is a link for pre made game channels the only thing you have to be aware of is are you downloading for a pal or ntsc game. It also has a guide for making channels but it so long winded i gave up, just stick with the link above for the easy option :-)

I found a better software to do this. It not only creates the channel wads but also gives you the option to apply the different patches to those wads (ex. #002, video patch etc)
The software is called - Loadstructor. Google Loadstructor-1.7+cLoader-1.6 and you will find it. VERY simple to use. Simply connect your WBFS harddisk to your PC, point to it and RUN - it will create channel wads for all the games with patches.
