Is there any way i can get custom wii themes without softmii(i just recovered from a softmii brick) i heard you can do anything softmii does without having the softmii high risk I think the themes are totally rad and i would even downgrade from 4.0U to get some themes on wii anyone?
Hey I'm in the same boat too. I'm new to this wii stuff, so I've been searching on the internet to install themes on a 4.0U. From what I've found you it appears we have to downgrade, then I found a program called mymenuify. Don't know how to use it or the dos and dont's of it either, any help would be appreciated.

Softmii sounds such a good idea until you realise some of the horror stories.
Don't think downgrading is without issues either. If you do downgrade from 4.0 down to 3.2 and then use a game update at ANY time in the future you will have an unrepairable brick, unless you've taken bootmii precautions.
Also some of these themes have been known to semi-brick Wiis, make sure you get the themes from a trusted source. Don't ask me what these trusted sources are though because themes aren't my thing.

Well I have great news, I was able to install the matrix theme on the first try easily without even having to downgrade. I did install bootmii ios to backup the nand. Also the program that did it all as mymenuify too. Hope this helps.

I went through a very short lived theme installation phase did it all sucessfully and got bored with them. Nothing really seemed truly fitting but the original menu. Some of the themes had bugs and eventually “System files are corrupted” would occasionally surface. So I was like screw that. I did have one rare banner brick a few months ago from a theme, luckily I was prepared way in advance for a possibility. The menu for the theme was labeled wrong or something. I didn't even panic and just ran bootmii. I still have a bunch of themes still I could install, but I'd rather not ruin my systems purity. My systems hacked to perfection the way I like it and all runs smoothly as if it were originally manufactured by Nintendo this way.
When if you do successfully get your themes on try to keep one consistant one cause by changing them up too often could rub the Wii the wrong way making its files go corrupt. Nintendos already getting rich just from a bunch of banner brick Wii repairs I sure. Seperate yourself from the others that go straight for the jugular without doing any homework none what so ever. Which I'm sure you have and hope this project works out for you.
