It looks good, but it wont connect to the server on either my computer or the Wii.

update: It will connect to the server now, but the files scanned to be added into the library will not show up.

Thanks for your post.

This is one of those players that use the Internet Channel to load a media stream and has a web server running on your PC, streaming video at only 12fps.

This X-oom is a retail product that is now been done in a free download by someone else.

You will find very few reviews of this product, despite the fact it's been out for ages.

Try orb instead. I was just about to post about it before I read this article. I've been using it for a week and it works flawlessly.

To do this, you will need

Wii
Wii internet
Computer
Orb software (free)
Router

Once you have all the hardware, you'll need to download the software from orb.com. From the orb.com homepage, you'll see a link for downloads.

1. Install orb on your computer and start the software.

2. Download some tv shows or movies using Google.

3. Follow this path and open your Shared Videos folder.

Start/My Computer/Shared Documents/Shared Video

4. Put your video in the Shared Video folder.

5. Turn on Wii Internet, visit mycast.orb.com, and login.

6. Go to Video, select Recently Added Video, and hit play on the file you want.

*As far as I know, it only supports avi, mpeg, and vp6 video formats.

*You have to have orb running on your pc to access your files with Wii internet.

Mplayer CE streams from your pc too? I thought it was only for playing dvds. Well, orb will play any files on your pc. Pics, mp3's, video.. you can program rss feeds with it. So.. personal preference I guess. And I think the orb interface looks a lot better.
