Thank God for BannerBomb!

Right now, I installed a new theme, and tried to go too the Channels and when I clicked on any channel, it kept saying "The System Files are corrupt. Please read the Wii operations manual for more details.":eek::eek::eek::mad::mad:

So, I figure I try a moon shoot (something nearly impossible)
I put the "MyMenuify" app's .dol file on the root of my SD card, and renamed the Bannerbomb directory to private, then went to Data Management >> Wii >> Channels >> SD, and loaded up the MyMenuify app and replaced my theme with the original them. It worked.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well, looks like Homebrew just got a boost! No homebrew channel required to run the homebrew apps!:D:D:D

So, in other words, DO NOT EDIT THE CHANNEL IMAGES when creating new themes.

Maybe I'm missng something here, but what was accomplished? You have to go through all of those steps to just to load a HBC app, for the sake of... what? Just to not have the HBC menu show up?

It sounds like you just loaded a corrupt theme, and should have used your backed up nand to recover, and try again...

Yep, I loaded a corrupt theme, and the reason why I had to go through those steps to load a homebrew app was because the HBC would not load.


I did backup my 00000072.app file, and used that to recover my system menu.


And another thing, I decided to downgrade my firmware to 3.2, so I backup the 00000042.app, then I upgraded my firmware via Waninkoko's up-grader.

Mike, bad themes can brick your Wii.

Search for mymenuify .

And as you will see, yes.. its probably one of the most common ways to brick your console.

alright. i saw a guy who had his wii pointing finger changed, and thats really what i was trying to do. i don't even really know if it's a theme. but if you could maybe tell me where to find it, i would really appreciate it. Google doesn't really understand "changing pointer finger on the wii", at least not for me..

I don't know how (or why) anyone would want to change the finger on the Wii but it sounds like it's a fundamental software change that could, if done with a bad wad, brick your Wii nicely for you.

Well, I don't think you should feel afraid to jack with your theme. Just know what your getting it to prior to playing with it. I played with the themes for a couple of days, trying out different things, etc. until I settled on a configuration I liked. During this time frame, I think I must have bricked my console 3 or more times. But I knew this possibility going into it... and was prepared with my nand backed up.
