    Brand of DVD's to use?

Hi, I have a softmodded Wii (system version 4.3) with the Homebrew Channel and Wiiflow installed. I downloaded a DVD5 ISO of Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I own the game, but it got scratched) and it works fine using an external hard drive. However, I haven't found a way to load Brawl+ or Brawl- without a DVD, so recently I've been trying to burn the ISO onto a DVD.

I only have TDK DVD+R single layer disks at home at the moment and I'm using Mac OS X on a Macbook. I've tried using Disk Utility to burn the ISO I have at 2.4X speed, but when I put it into the Wii, it won't recognize the disk.

Is the recognition problem due to the use of a DVD+R rather than a DVD-R?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi
I use "any" DVD-R (Tesco,Asda ect) All usually work ok but usb loading is the way forward (No lagg or judders as usb's speed is the Key),Disc's Run @ 3x (back up) & original run @ 6x, so i think usb maybe 8-10x? not sure but it's the best!
    Hope this helps.
[***WII SPECS 4.1E*** SOFTMOD DARKCORP 1.1LITE(OK I KNOW) NAND BACK UP

    Hm, I'll try using a Verbatim DVD-R.

Do you know if they make DVD-R Dual-Layer discs? (if I wanted to try to use a dual layer disc)

I got a 50-pack of the Verbatim DVD-R Life Series discs. It does not mention that it has the AZO dye/coating on it. Is that all right, or should I try to get one with the AZO coating on it (which according to Verbatim increases the read/write speeds)?

The "Life" sub-label should be avoided. Apparently this is a budget line introduced by Verbatim and they're literally junk --- CMC MAG mediacode, a 4th tier (at best) code and to be avoided at all costs.

They sell'em in small boxes (Verbatim DL) @ Wally World. Your IP tells me you're in the states.

I just bought some Verbatim DL DVD-R ... they were not cheap ....
ImgBurn says it cannot alter the layer break on DVD-R I tried to burn metroid it won't work....
I've tried using 2 DVD+R DL with the correct layer break and they wont load either ....
Any suggestions for another brand (dye type, book type) for a +R DL disc??
