    Burning Discs on new laptop

    Hello

I have been burning discs on my old laptop for a while now and never had any problems (due to this fab website). Well my old laptop was on its last legs so I got a new one and it wont burn discs properly, Im pretty sure they are being burned too fast. On my old laptop, I used to set it to 4X (Imgburn) and it would change it to lower and burn at about 1.5-2X which always worked. When I set my new laptop/Imgburn to 2X or 4X it changes it to higher, then the discs dont work. Any suggestions? Alternative burner maybe? I believe the discs had an 1048 error (I think)

So in the mean time im using my old laptop with a lamp to illuminate the screen (backlight/lighting panel has gone I think as I changed the inverter with no avail), but thats a different story.

    Please help. Many thanks

are you still using the same media?

It might be worth trying to identify the make and model of the burner and checking the manufacturers website to see if there is a firmware update for your burner.

I use a acer laptop to copy all of my games...I seem to not have a problem....I use Nero 8 lite. I also record at 8x speeds. I am thinking that your having a software problem....I would try a couple of different types of software a lot of them have trial versions. Best way to do this is get a external hard drive... if you have an old IDE hard drive laying around goto RadioShack and by a external casing..its easy.. I did.
