Contests Forum Rules

Please, when posting in this category respect the rules set forth by the site administrator and only post topics, comments, and links that have to do with a video game related contest, promotion, sweepstakes, giveaway, or the like. Please do not create a new account on this site if your intent is to post offers that are not video game related or to spam these boards, the same applies to current members. Your post(s) will be quickly deleted by a moderator or above if they are found to be in violation of the site rules. Repeated offenses will result in disciplinary action from the site administrator up to and including account termination. Having an account here is a privilege and not a right so let's keep it a fun place to visit by doing the right thing and abiding by the rules.

Remember, contests and free stuff are just that. FREE. If you are asked to enter bank account information or credit card numbers this is a red flag and an invitation for trouble. It is not a legitimate contest so don't proceed any further. Always use your best judgment when signing up for something on the internet and take the necessary precaution to safe-guard your personal information. If it looks too good to be true it probably is. Be sure to read the fine print. Any reputable company sponsoring a contest will have a privacy policy in the contest rules stating how your information will be used. It is best to setup an email account that you will use solely for entering contests. This way you will not be bothered by spam at your primary email address.

Have fun posting and entering and keep your fingers crossed. You never know when it might be your lucky day!

I'll look to see if i can create an icon next to the contest to specify if it is a Canadian or US contest.

That would be a great idea. Some sort of a mini flag icon would be a nice touch. Thank you for making the forum rules topic a sticky so it stays at the top of the page. Is it possible for people below moderator status to be able to "sticky" their own posts when posting?

Wow retrogamer.. Thanks for finding all of these contests.

Is anyone allowed to post a thread because I know of a few that are not listed?

Oh yes, please do post them. Anyone is allowed to post in this section. Just make sure that the things you find are video game related and that they are free to enter. I try to stay away from those contests where you have to complete certain offers since most of the time they end up being some type of a scam or you end up getting alot of spam emails.

Ok thanks. I did make a thread in which you could win a camera and a big screen TV from Dell before I read your reply. If it's no good it will be fine to delete it. Sorry.

Some of us were recruited from a Canadian site. We do have contests up here in Canada. That is why I asked for specification.

You are right and I totally agree with you. I try to posts contests from other countries whenever I find them. Not too many come up in my search engine though for places outside of the USA, or I would have posted alot more. Didn't mean to leave out my friends in Canada.
