Nintendo Launching $99 Wii Mini ... in Canada

Full-sized electronics are so 2006. Nintendo today officially detailed the Wii mini, which will be released Dec. 7 for $99 - but only in Canada.
The device first surfaced this morning on the Best Buy Canada website, and is being described as a gaming-only system without Internet connectivity.
The red and black mini version of the popular gaming console is compatible with more than 1,300 Wii games, but does not play Nintendo GameCube games, the company said. Those who want to bulk up their Wii game library can grab Nintendo Selects games starting at $19.99. Popular titles like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Donkey Kong Country Returns will retail for $29.99, while Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports Resort will be $39.99. New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be $59.99, while a Wii Fit Plus and Wii Balance Board bundle will set you back $99.99.
Nintendo is painting the Wii mini as a family-friendly device for first-time users who want to experience motion-controlled gaming.
"There are games in the Wii library for every type of player," Ron Bertram, Nintendo of Canada's vice president, said in a statement. "Wii Mini is a great gift for the holidays that brings everyone in the family together to play."
The mini console comes with a red Wii Remote Plus controller and red Nunchuk controller.
Best Buy Canada said it will start taking pre-orders for the Wii Mini later today; the pre-order link currrently redirects customers to the main Nintendo Wii sales page.
For now, Americans are stuck with the recently released Wii U, which reached initial sales of 400,000 in its first week on shelves. For more, see PCMag's review of the Nintendo Wii Uand the slideshow below.

I believe it does not have an SD card slot though. Possible Nintendo did this on purpose to try and prevent hacking? I mean how much money/space could a card reader possibly cost them?

Nintendo have made the complete unhackable console, with no sd port, no internet access, no usb ports and a DVD drive that cannot read burned discs (obviously).

Sent from my A75 using WiiHacks, excuse grammar errors
