Ah, I see. Well, that does make sense.

So, where do the beta updates get listed so anyone can find them easily? (I already downloaded the one linked earlier, but that was just a Mediafire link. Just in case, I'd like to know where to find future updates as well.)

Just so you know, the betas will always be downloaded from Mediafire.

Thanks for the link (though it's as not-organized as I'd feared. Ah well. At least it's there. ^_^; )

Yeah, I'm fine with (actually, prefer) Mediafire storage. It's that I wanted to be able to find the NEXT one.

      Ok, new question:

Wii U. I've read that NOT everything is transferred with the transfer system, but some things are.

      Not: HBC, Boot 2, etc.
Are: Shop Channel purchases, save files, etc.

So, do IOS files get transferred? (mainly, those for USB Loader GX and DIOS MIOS)
      Any specifics?

I've searched around, but found no in-depth info. (other than that you can NAND-back your Wii so that you don't actually lose it's immediate usability).

I don't think this is the correct thread for that question, neither do I have an answer regarding that.

I am experiencing a problem while trying to save with NMM.

In Killer7, I am able to save without a problem into a fresh slot. However, when I try to overwrite a save, the system freezes. Any idea as to what could be causing this?

I'd think it would be ok, since I was certainly including DIOS MIOS; don't know how, but wouldn't want that to cause problems for the new system.
Well, either way, here's what I can tell from my doing so: It only transfers specific data (Miis, save files and Shop-based Channels), so no home-brew/IOS stuff will carry over.

And it's worth it for the Pikmin videos (going off Wii, and going into Wii U). ^_^

      And there you have it.

edit: Either way, asked, answered, done.

Your question is about the Wii U data transfer, not the use of Dios Mios. Therefor it is better asked in the Wii U Newbie Section.

Would changing a drive to "active" potentially erase any data on a drive?

I think this guide is for installing ver 2.6. Are you actually trying to do that? Then at least your question could be relevant in this thread.

What are the steps I can take to definitively rule out my drive's compatibility with DM? Are there any settings that are known to influence drive compatibility? And again: is there surely no hope of drive compatibility increasing with updates to ANY components of softmod?

You can try a different USB drive, if the second works then the first is not compatible.

DM 2.6 is the latest version of Dios Mios. Also, the loaders need to be updated over what worked for you for DML 1.5. I have links to the three most common loaders that will work with the latest DM in my signature.

Has anyone had success with Eternal Darkness using DM? It locks on the Poe quote for me. (If there's a compatibility thread somewhere on here, I apologize.)

Edit: ripped it afresh and it now works.

ok- first off- my hats off to all of the members of this forum. I am extremely impressed with the calibur of help that you are willing to lend. I did my homework over the last 48 hours, or so I thought, but I am no further than when I started. I have recently softmodded my Wii and my current endevour is to get GC backups running. There aren't many games I want to play, but mainly I want to run Star Wars rouge squadron II, and III. I did as suggested and read all 174 pages of this thread. Everytime I would glean a piece of information I would try it, to no success. I will try to explain briefly what I have done and if anyone can help me get my GC games running off USB I would be forever greatful. so- here goes: I softmodded my Wii using letterbomb. I then have a toshiba 500 gb hard drive that I am using only for the Wii. I unfortunately formated it to WBFS before I found this amzaing forum. I had all of my Wii games on the drive running flawless. I then decided to tackle the GC backups- so I used WBFS2FAT32 to convert my drive to FAT32. I have verified that it is 32KB as well. I originally had an older version of usbGX on, so I have updated that to USBgx 3.0 1205. I have tried DM anywhere from 2.2 all the way to 2.6. I have my GC backup games on USB1/games/gamename/game.iso . I can see the games in the gx loader and when i open it it goes straight to black screen and freezes. I read the post about using a current version of wiiflow- so I updated that and too my suprise i saw the DM splash screen for the first time and it loaded the GC game rebel squadron III. I was so excited I thought I was there, but when I tried any other loader it didnt work. And then I realized that I had the retail game in the Wii. I took the game out and tried again, black screen, no DM splash. I have never seen the DM splash since. I have stayed up until 5am in the morning for the last 2 days, reading this thread and trying everything I can think of. I want to give up but seeing how much everyone here is committed to the success of everyone else, I thought I would post my last desperate cry for help. So anything you can do to get me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

The links to the most recent versions of the three most common loaders (which all work with Dios Mios 2.6) are in my signature. See if updating to one of these will help.

You might also need to change some settings, I do hope you've read the first post on this thread as it should tell you everything you need to do to get the games working (ie which settings and all that).

I had read by candylove that if you cant run DM with the DM loader out of the HB channel that it wouldnt work in any loader... I black screen in the DM loader too.... is there any sense in trying to update loaders if I cant get it working without the DM loader?

Also, I haven't tried v1209 of GX, I'll test it out and see if that's compatible.

I think I deleted my cfg files- I know whatever I deleted got rid of all of my covers and I had to re-download all of them. If that is the wrong thing to delete- can someone please give me the path of what I should have deleated? As for NTSC- I forced it based on a guide that I read- still black screen either way.
