DIOS MIOS may not be compatible with your HDD
      You could try Devolution

Devolution has higher compatibility from what I've read but IMO having DIOS MIOS and Devolution is the best way cause some games that run buggy on Devo run good on DM and vice versa. They compliment each other nicely

If only my piece of %#@! Wii could verify the discs lol

      Hey I need help.

My Wii is the Original White version with Gamecube Ports. (PAL)
I've installed WAD Manager 1.7 and installed the Dios Mios 2.2 wad.
I am using a SanDisk 2 GB SD Card, and a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1 TB Hard Drive (partitioned first portion to FAT32 with 32kb cluster size, active and primary) and I'm using USB Loader GX r1200 loaded via Homebrew Channel 1.1.
I have Super Mario Sunshine 'NTSC' as an iso file in the 'games' folder, which is in the hard drive.
In the Loader settings, everything starting with DML is set to off, apart from DML Installed Version which is set to 2.2+, and video mode is None. Ocarina is off.

So I'm stuck now because I think I'm expected to see Super Mario Sunshine as a channel when I load USB Loader right? Because I don't see it. I think might have done something wrong.

I got a few questions as well.

1a. My Wii is PAL, can PAL Wii's run Dios Mios v2.2?
      b. If yes, can it run both NTSC games and PAL games? What settings do I change before I run the game.
      2. I ran syscheck on my Wii, is everything there okay?

      Spoiler

      Any assistance is appreciated thanks.

PAL Wii's can use DIOS MIOS but you should use games from your own region. I am not qualified to judge your syscheck.

Your softmod appears to be outdated, I see you are missing several cIOSs (not that they're needed for DIOS MIOS, but USB Loaders do require them). Go to the "Softmod ANY Wii" guide and follow it accordingly to update your mod.

Also rerip your game from the disc, it's best to use a game that is of the same region as your system. After ripping it you should place the untouched ISO file in USB/Games/GameID/game.iso (example using Zelda Wind Waker...only game ID I can remember lol: USB/Games/GZLE01/game.iso). The game must literally be named "game.iso" for the loader to be able to see and load it. If you still aren't seeing it go back to page 1 of this thread and start over from step 1, if it STILL doesn't work try a different USB drive.

      CaptainRambo,
Always try dios-mios-booter r30 first if it works then you could try other usb loaders
      For USB Loader GX, go into settings>custom paths, and change the path from SD to USB1:/games/;
      GC games in USB1/games/GAMEID/game.iso
Try different GC Backups and you could use DiscEX v 0.9 to convert GC images to the required format

I fixed my problem. For anyone who is googling this in 3 years time that has the same issue :P then I just used the latest version of WiiFlow and set the loader options to DIOS-MIOS. I tried every single loader except this one and for some reason, they weren't booting the games.

Such a relief. It was taking over 5 seconds to open one of the stone doors in the Forest Temple... 10 seconds for a regular store.

Okay thanks SNES_Master and candylove for the help.

So far I've changed the file destination to USB1/games/GAMEID/game.iso, and now I can see games in USB Loader GX. I've got Kirby Air Ride PAL version so now I can test both NTSC and PAL games. Problem is I get the black screen upon loading both those games. I think there still might be wrong settings in my loader. Otherwise, I'll try updating my softmod and I'll try other USB Loaders (I'd rather have USB Loader GX working since I use that to play my Wii games)

I'm pretty certain my USB drive is compatible, since I can load NTSC and PAL Wii games easily in USB Loader GX, and someone mentioned the exact same hard drive as mine but smaller (mine is 1 TB instead of 250 GB) being able to play both Gamecube and Wii games.

Being able to load your Wii games off the HDD drive works differently. Wii games are loaded natively via USB Loader GX (or which ever USB program you use) where as DIOS MIOS handles the GC loading. Your USB loader simply calls upon DIOS MIOS to do the loading of USB GC games rather than actually doing it on its own, surely the 2 are working with each other (can't say for sure cause I didn't work on the program) but being that DIOS MIOS is its own thing it has different USB HDD compatibility that Wii USB Loaders do.

By the way, Which revision of USB Loader and DIOS MIOS are you using? And how are you launching it (via Forwarder Channel or HBC)?

To anyone still getting a black screen and/or power off:
      Try removing your SD card.

After 2 weeks of fighting with DM, that turned out to be my only issue.

If your usbloader is on the SD you'll probably have to move it to the hard drive first. It might be okay to start it from the SD, then remove it JUST BEFORE launching a game, but I'm not sure. Never tested that.

Very weird. Have you had any issues with the SD port before this?

Both my wii works perfect without using SD cards, I keep all my apps on the USB .
Only when I update the apps from the wii I use the SD card but then I transfer it to the USB.

Nothing that I've noticed. Everything else seems to work fine.

I keep everything on my hard drive anyway, so leaving the SD out all the time isn't going to be an issue for me.

      I have 2 problems:

      1. I'm trying to use USB Loader GX 3.0 and I don't know where to change the settings to DM 2.2. I've looked in the GUI, loader and hard drive settings and I can't find them.

      2. The loader asked me to copy the games to the SD card, so I launched it from the HBC like you said but it's still asking me to copy them (the games). Yes, I have the last version of the loader and yes, I have the last version of the forwarder.

You have GX 3.0 but is it r1193 or higher? You need 1193 and up to use DM 2.2 which could explain why you can't find the DM settings.

no more DM 2.2 settings in new GX r1202 only MIOS settings in Loader Settings
USB Loader GX has the most settings in all the USB Loaders
Update to USB Loader GX r1202,usbloader GX r1202
Select loader mode: check GC Games
Loader Settings/ GameCube Mode/ MIOS (Default & Customs)
      For USB Loader GX, go into settings>custom paths, and change the path from SD to USB1:/games/;
(DIOS MIOS 2.2 will not work if you choose USB2 or SD)
sometimes when you update, you have to remove the GXGameSettings.GFG file in usbloader_gx app
If this USB Loader does not work for you, you could Try WiiFlow r663
      dios-mios-booter r30 or CFG Loader r45

If you are still having issues check out the guide-dios-mios
USB1, FAT32 with cluster size 32kb, active, primary and your games are in first partition of the hard drive.
      GC games in USB1/games/GAMEID/game.iso

This is for others with HDD issues:
Wii games works on FAT32 with 32kb or 64kb cluster size HDD or WBFS HDD or NTFS HDD and on any partition of the HDD
GC games only works on FAT32 with 32kb cluster size and first partition of the HDD
