Always try dios-mios-booter r30 ( press the -(L) Button for USB Device with dios mios booter) and DIOS MIOS 2.2 wad install with Wad Manager to IOS236, first try from HBC, if it works then you could try the other USB Loaders like WiiFlow r663, CFG Loader r45, or USB Loader GX r1202, usbloader GX r1202. IF you are having issues check your USB Loader settings, sometimes removing the configuration settings file in wiiflow app and GXGameSettings.GFG file in usbloader_gx app gets rid of the issues....

      check out the guide-dios-mios
USB1, FAT32 with cluster size 32kb, active, primary and first partition of the hard drive.
      GC games in USB1/games/GAMEID/game.iso

(DIOS MIOS will not work if your hard drive is not FAT32 or cluster size is more than 32kb or USB2 or 2nd partition of hard drive)

Hey all, in need of a bit of help. Prior to now I had been using a WBFS partitioned HDD with my Wii, so I didn't really bother with using it for much else besides that. I recently got help from SNES_Master and candylove in regards to changing the file type of the HDD, so my computer could access it. That went well enough, and I proceeded to overwrite the version of DML I had been using since I installed it in June with DIOS MIOS 2.2.

Before I was running my Wii backups off the HDD, while I had a half dozen or so GCN backups on my SD Card.

Well, now I have all that installed, when I attempt to load Wii games from the HDD using WiiFlow, it goes to a black screen. Meanwhile, loading a GCN game loads the one currently in my disc slot. My HDD is FAT32, 32KB cluster, running IOS58 and WiiFlow version: r418. The HDD in use has a single partition that's active and primary.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any and all help. Hopefully when I get a better understanding I, in turn, can help others.

EDIT: So I noticed I had used the DML 2.2 wad instead of the DM 2.2 one and corrected that. Also did a bit of testing... when I had DML 2.2 with Games/GameID/GCN.iso on the root of my HDD along with the wbfs folder, Wii games wouldn't load. When I took the Games folder off the HDD and put it on the SD, Wii games would load again just fine, but WiiFlow still loaded the GCN game in my disc slot. Now when I have DM 2.2 installed, Wii games won't load again. Could my WiiFlow version be out of date?

Try WiiFlow r663,you could update WiiFlow r418 from the wii or your computer. IF you are having issues check your USB Loader settings, sometimes removing the configuration settings file in wiiflow app gets rid of the issues because it was set to use the SD card and WBFS partitioned HDD or just remove the old wiiflow app and put a new wiiflow r663 app without the settings file in your apps folder

Do not format your HDD just change the cluster size.
This is from my previous post:
Only for dios mios you need FAT32 with 32KB cluster size so after you convert it to FAT32 check the cluster size with Acronis or MiniTool, if it is 64KB use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced to change the cluster from 64KB to 32KB cluster it is very quick, you could also use MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition to change the cluster size, I remove the HB stuff from the hard drive and I kept it on the computer and I left all the games and videos on the hard drive and I did not lose any data and it is very fast also and the games and videos work perfect after

I would also like to recommend some apps for your FAT32 HDD if you do not have it yet WiiMC, WiiMC Channel Installer, FCE Ultra GX plus channel Installer, Snes9x GX plus channel Installer, VBA GX, Homebrew Browser app

P.S Do not forget the Plugins Pack v5 for WiiFlow r522+

Ok I have a question regarding having both GC and WII games on the same partition. I have my USB formatted to FAT32 with 32kb clusters.

My problem is that I cannot put any of my large wii games onto it. I receive the error, "Game.iso is too large for the destination file system." Having googled this error I found out that FAT32 does not allow for files larger than 4GB. How do I go about solving this problem?

      :edit:
Well I seem to have solved my own problem. I did some more digging and found that I could use Wii Backup Manager to add games to my usb drive instead.

Ghost, you need to use "wii bakcup manager" to split the Wii games into 4GB partitions. So if you have a Wii game bigger than 4GB it will reduce it to 2 files of 4GB + some. It will be in .wbfs format.

btw. I just saw your edit.

Thanks, candy. I'll give that version of WiiFlow a try. Also, everything you recommended I have.

Got WiiMC yesterday and love it. Now, off to work... again!

EDIT: Just wanted to update, updating to that new version of WiiFlow did the trick, candy! I can load both my Wii and GCN games from HDD, now. Thanks a lot for your help!

I'm trying to load Zelda Wind Waker with Ocarina but every time I try it with USB Loader GX, it gives me a green screen. If I try CFG USB Loader, it either loads without the codes or refuses to load at all.

I'm trying to download dios mios from the google code website but it only gives me the option of source files and executables. I don't care about these, I need the wad file for my wii (and I'm on a Mac so these executables are worthless to me).

Can anybody send me the mios cios 2.2 wad?

That's strange. All you need to do is goto
      Code:
      http://code.google.com/p/diosmios/
      Click "Downloads"
And then you should have several options. I'm using the "DIOS MIOS 2.2 for real NAND (+source)"

The actual download link for the one I am using is:
      Code:
      http://uploaded.net/file/of524gjv
      Hope that helps.

I seem to be having trouble getting USB loading to work. SD loading using DM2.2 works just fine, however when I try to browse my USB games directory the only option I get is to load from my DVD drive. I'm loading them from DM Booter by the way.

I've installed DM2.2 using WadManager1.7 onto ISO236. I have like 7 copies MegamanXCollection, compressed and not compressed (to see if that was the issue), in my USB:/games/ directory. I still only get the option to load form DVD drive (which works).

Also yeah, USB is in port 0.

      Any help?

And yeah, the HDD is formatted for Fat32/active/primary/32kb cluste

My games still won't appear on the list

      Please Use The Edit Function.

Aaron, if you're using Dios Mios Booter then your problem is that your games are either not in a /games/ folder (at the root) or you games aren't in their respective ID folders as game.iso.

Just want to point out that Megaman X Collection will not work properly without the standard AV cables. If you're using component cables like me you'll be able to see everything from the intro screens to the menus but once you start any of the games the screen goes black and you'll only be able to hear the game.

Are you using DML2.2 with SD or DM2.2 with USB? You can only have DM, or DML installed at once; not both. DML for SD or DM for USB.

I think DIOS MIOS (standard, not DML) can do SD as well as USB...at least I've been able to get it to.

So DML is no longer necessary then?

Nope, I'm pretty sure the DML google code page said the project is dead now and that DM is going to be the one they keep updating. I'll have to try again since I updated to USB GX r1200 and DM 2.2 but back when I had r1193 and DM 2.1 I know I was being asked to copy the games from USB to SD. I suppose it could have been a fluke (it may perhaps have been when my HDD was set to 64kb clusters) but it did let me load off SD so in theory all I need to do is put a GC ISO on my SD and change set the SD path to the right folder. I'll test this theory out this week (possibly tomorrow) and post back the results.

I test it with DIOS MIOS Booter and I remove the USB HDD and I try SD, did not work for me, when I put back the USB and pick SD it auto load it from USB HDD not SD. DIOS MIOS 2.2 only works when the USB is connected to the Wii for me, you are lucky.

PS I try with USB GXr1202 and it said to run GC games with DIOS MIOS you need to set your Main GC Path to an USB FAT32 partition.
The last update for DML was AUG 14 the last update for DM was JUL 20

Perhaps it was due to my older version at that time (as I said I haven't tried it on r1200 + 2.2). I'll give it a try today and see what my results are but I'm guessing they'll be the same as yours since it no longer tells me anything about DML or SD loading.

Whenever I try to boot from DIOS MIOS booster, or USB Loader GX it will boot the retail game inside the drive rather than the file on the USB/SD . Any idea why this is happening? My loaders are showing the files on the devices, but they just aren't loading them. It works perfectly fine if I use an older version of DML with an SD card, but I don't have the space to do that (and the loading times are dreadful) so I needed to update.

Did you read this first guide-dios-mios and your USB is FAT32 with 32KB cluster size, first partition and your games are in USB1 and you are using USB Loader GX r1202 with DM 2.2 install for USB not DML for SD and you remove the GXGameSettings.GFG file in usbloader_gx app because it was set to use SD and now you are using USB and you try from HBC first ?
Update to USB Loader GX r1202,usbloader GX r1202 and reinstall DIOS MIOS 2.2 wad for USB, not DIOS MIOS Lite for SD
If you have two partitions on your hard drive? I will tell you how to change the FAT32 to first partition.
If you have 64KB cluster size? I will tell you how to change it to 32KB without format.
Remove the retail game inside the drive.
