Which means I messed something up, or missed something.

I will have to grab the 1.8 version, and toss it onto my drive. Thanks for that tip
wad manager 1.8 works on both my wii ver 4.3u might not work on older ver. Did you try from homebrew channel? Did you check your Hard drive cluster size?
GC games only works on FAT32 with 32KB cluster, primary, active, first partition, USB1.

this is from my old post:
"I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced to change the cluster to 32KB cluster and I did not lose any Data. I also had a NTFS drive which work perfect with wii backup but not GC backup so I made a fat32 partition, but it was partition 2, so to change it to partition 1, I had to change both partition to logical and then change the fat32 to primary 1st plus active and then the NTFS to primary so the fat was 1st partition and the NTFS was 2nd partition "

P.S I am using wiiflow r607 with DIOS MIOS 2.2 wad and it works perfect so just check your hard drive

I checked the using the program itself from HBC, and it was the same thing (asking to install to the SD) I am going to try reformatting the drive again, and moving stuff back, but wont be able to test until i get back from a trip for work. Which I guess means Friday night with beer and a Wii xD

I did not format the Hard drive, I remove the homebrew stuff kept it on the computer and I left the games and movies on the Hard drive, I just use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced to change the cluster from 64KB to 32KB cluster it is very quick, you could also use MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition to change the cluster size, I did not lose any data and it is very fast and the games and movies works great, it may finish before you finish your beer

I found a fix which doesnt use the way you do, however just a quick question, to where do I install DIOS MIOS to? I'm using an emulated nand because I've got too many games/wiichannels. Cause I installed it to the wii memory, using wad manager, then I made a NAND back up of that, then I used wiiflow + Nand emulation to play my gamecube games. However, this only worked one on hard-drive. Is there a way to install DIOS MIOS straight to the hard-drive?
The main issue for the other hard-drives, the one which works is only 70 gig, while the one I'm trying to get to work is 1.43 terabytes, is that once I click a gamecube game, the DIOS MIOS screen will load up, however, instead of flashing green and then loading the game, it sits there, before going to a black screen. Is there a way to fix this?

Always try from HBC, For CFG Loader in System, where it says DML version, change it to 2.2+. Downloads - cfg-loader-mod - Configurable USB Loader MOD - Google Project Hosting version r37 of CFG Loader to use with DIOS MIOS v2.2
      you could also try this:
for usb loader gx, go in your apps folder/usbloader_gx and edit or remove GXGameSettings.GFG File
      for CFG USB Loader,
(config.txt plus settings.CFG)put in the FAT32 USB,but only In SD root/apps directory to SD card and delete sd:/apps/USBLoader/config.txt and sd:/usb-loader/config.txt plus settings, keep it in your FAT32 USB only.
      do not forget to rename
cfg70MODr37.dol to boot.dol before you put it
SD/apps/USBLoader and remove the old one
in your SD/apps/USBLoader you should have boot.dol, icon, meta
in your USB/usb-loader folder config.txt, setting.CFG plus 20 more items
Is you hard drive one partition? perfect, if not GC games only works on FAT1, USB1, First partition of the hard drive.
      GC games:
      USB1/games/GAMEID/game.iso

you will have to do the same for the 1.43 TB or any other hard drive unless you install to the wii using wad manager
did you transfer all the stuff from 70 gig to 1.43 TB?
you could try Devolution you do not have to install DIOS MIOS to play GC games.

Hey guys there's like 72 pages of discussion and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there's a way to save your gamecube games to the HDD or SD without a memory card. I tried playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and it mentioned there not being a memory card. I saw a couple posts at the beginning of this thread but nothing specific. If anyone could direct me that'd be fantastic.

Some games can use NoMoreMemory to save to SD/USB but not all games can use this feature. It is strongly recommended you get a GC memory card.

Yeah, I both hard-drives are identical in the information stored on them, only the smaller one works. Thats why this is so infuriating. So I've gotta install DIOS MIOS straight to the emulated nand, or to the wii itself before backing up the nand?

Will I know which games have this feature in USB Loader GX or no?

It won't tell you, you have to look online for a list or go by trial and error.

Is your 1.43TB also FAT32 with 32KB cluster, primary, active, first partition (USB1) or one partition. Sometimes the large hard drive have 64KB cluster size
My hard drive had 64KB cluster so I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced to change the cluster from 64KB to 32KB cluster.

Did you try Devolution, you do not have to install DIOS MIOS to play GC games.

Yeah, I looked into Devolution, I'd much rather use Wiiflow, for simplicity and also I'm lazy, so I dont want to change between two different homebrew channels. And yses, I have set to those spefications.

Devolution works with any usb loader, Wiiflow , USB loader GX etc, but that is another guide. I use it sometimes with USB Loader GX but I prefer DIOS MIOS 2.2. I do not have a emulated nand on my USB so I hope the experts help you with that question, you may be right about having to install DIOS MIOS straight to the emulated nand or to the wii itself before backing up the nand. Hope we here from the experts soon

I may give Devolution a go, I've got no idea why DIOS MIOS won't work on my larger hard-drives. At the moment, I'm just copying what game I want to play onto the smaller one, but I'd really love to just have my full library displayed to me, otherwise its no different from having to get the disk out. And yes, hopefully I'll get help from the experts soon. All I need is to fix this problem and whammo, no more issues for me.

I am doing this first time and have a few questions
and hope somebody can help me here:

      1. Should i put all downloaded and unzipped folders in the same
"games" folder on the USB HD?
So now I have DIOS MIOS v2.0, Wad Manager 1.7, DiskEx and DML Wad Creator folders
      under "games.

      2. How do I
Install the DIOS MIOS v2.0 wad file with Wad Manager 1.7. (with d2x v8 base 56.)?
How do i run this installation?

i hope this will get me started...

No, only the game isos and any other files that were created along with it if you used Disc Ex have to be in the "games" folder.

The diosmiosv2.0.wad file or whatever it is currently named should be on your SD card under any folder. DiscEx is a program that goes on your computer, not your Wii. DML Wad creator goes in the same folder that you put the DiscEx files on your computer (a.k.a. your computer's harddisk, or where ever you run your computer programs from). Wad Manager 1.7 should go into the apps folder of your SD Card because it's an application that the Homebrew Channel runs.

You will install Dios Mios with Wad Manager v1.7 from the homebrew channel, if you will. You may also use IOS 236 to install the .wad file instead of d2x.

I'll try and clear up as much as I can.

      1) All your GC games should be in their own folders inside a Games folder. An example using Zelda Wind Waker: USB1\Games\GZLE01\Game.iso, in this example "Games" is right on the root of your HDD, "GZLE01" is a subfolder inside the Games folder and game.iso is the actual game itself (if the game was added with DiscEx/DML Wad Creator you will also see a "sys" folder with 3 other files that may or may not be needed to run the game). If you follow the guide on page 1 and use DiscEx and DML Wad Creator they will automatically output the gameID folder, you just need to move it to your USB1\Games.

DiscEx and DML Wad Creator not necessarily needed, however they do make things a bit easier if your new to this stuff. You only use on your computer as means of generating the proper file structure, names and compressing the iso (essentially this just makes it easier as all you really need to do is to copy/paste the generated folder into the HDDs Game folder)

      2) I can't tell you how to do it with Wad Manager as I've never used that program but with Multi-Mod Manager 13.4 it's done like this.

Take DIOS MIOS vX (vX = what ever version you decide to use, I recommend 2.2 with USB Loader GX but other options are available), put said WAD file into your WAD folder on your SD card. Next put the SD card in your Wii and launch the HomeBrew Channel. Select Multi-Mod Manager and choose load. Scroll towards the bottom to the option that tells you your current IOS (if it doesn't say 236 just press A, you'll see a list of all your IOSs. Scroll to 236 and press A, IOS236 is now the loaded IOS for installing). You be sent back to the main menu of MMM, select "Wad Manager" and you'll see all the wads in you SDs WAD folder, look for your DIOS MIOS.wad and press A (I believe you'll have to press A again to confirm your action). Once done it will tell you success (or failure, if it fails you may have a problem with IOS236). If you get a success message you're done, you can now load USB Loader GX, pop in a GameCube disc and install it (that's the easiest way). Optionally you can rip the games on you Wii + HDD using CleanRip than run the game ISO through DiscEx. I'd really recommend reading the guide a couple times to familiarize yourself with the process but truthfully if your really new and it all sounds very complex you're better off just installing the games with USB Loader.

      Hopefully this helps

Thanks a lot cwjakesteel. That clears up the whole thing.

I'll try it later (have to run now). Meanwhile just one more question.
I have my grandson 4.3 u Wii modded with the "mode any Wii" guide a couple of month ago
(it runs the Wii backups of the USB HD and the GC backup disks).
Now I am going to install the Dios Mios on the top of it.
I assume that this should not damage the Wii in any way.

      Can you concur?
