Anyone else experiencing this: I'm using USB Loader GX 3.0 r1200 with DM 2.2 and, though it's not seeming to cause any issues, every time I click start on a game I get a message telling me Dios Mios (Lite) no longer uses the no disc function and that I must put a disc in the drive. Now I don't actually have to, I can load the games without a disc but why is it telling me this every time? I have "DML No Disc" turned on, there is a second option called DML No Disc+ but I haven't tried it as I don't know what it does. Anyone have any ideas?

yes only with r1200, go in your apps folder/usbloader_gx and edit or remove GXGameSettings.GFG File and you will not get that message again. you do not DML No Disc turned on and you do not need a disc in the drive unless you want to force it to play from the drive

      or just "Use Global"

If I delete the GXGameSettings.cfg does that mean I will have to edit all my settings from default again?

Yes, I do....but it appears you were right. Deleted the CFG file and turned off nodisc, no more message

Actually it appears all I had to do was turn nodisc off and set the games to "Use Global" for that setting.

ok i think im getting close. now usb loader gx 3.0(r1200) is asking if i want to copy my game to the sd card. i have the game on my hdd, and i want to play it from there. so what do i change to make it so it doesnt ask me copy the data to my sd card.

also, the only stuff on the sd card is the apps, wads, and that stuff. the hdd only has wii and gc games. again, all the wii games are loading fine, i just havent gotten past the "copy to sd card" part for gc.

Go to the first page of this thread and make sure you've put the GC games in the correct location. Also make sure you've changed the custom path so USB Loader knows where to find them.

      USB Loader GX 3.0 r1200: R1200_IOS222-249-250.7z

Sure wasn't easy finding it, but very much worth it.

I'm still having issues with games not loading past certain parts, usually the first few cutscenes of most first party Nintendo games, that I've tested.
I'm going to look all over the place for my flash drives and test each one individually JUST to make sure it's not my external HDD.

Which program are you using to rip the games?

      Hey there!

I followed the guide and installed everything and wheneet I start USB Loader GX I get the Wii frozen on the "Initializing USB" screen. If I try the the 222 version, it loads but it doesn't seem to recognize the USB device.

I tried formatting it again and again and still get the same results.

P.S: My Wii won't read SD cards either so that might be a problem, which I don't think it would be if it worked before.

You need your Wii to be able to read SD cards.
Another option you could try (don't know for sure that it will help) is to go through the Softmod ANY Wii guide, doing that will update your softmod and any IOS/cIOSs you have, it might help, it might not.

Alright, so I'm able to get the USB device recognized now but I can't edit USB Loader GX's custom paths as it gives me an error.

How exactly do I go about fixing that?

Just want to say I've been successfull in booting up a ntsc version of ssbm using this tutorial. I was getting black screens, and reset errors but I believe disabling region free support in priloader, and following the 1st post instructions carefully will prove effective. Im using DM 2.2 , good luck!!

if USB Loader GX channel ask to copy to SD, uninstall the channel wad and install the forwarder wad
"USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT wad" this works with DIOS MIOS 2.2 and USB Loader GX v3.0 r1200

      Please Use The EDIT Function.

your right, put back the CFG file and enable Use Global.

Klavice did you try to set the games to "Use Global" one of my wii does not have a Sd card and everthing works perfect with fat32 , 32KB cluster hard drive, I install wads with wad manager 1.8 from usb and the games folder is in USB1
try removing the usbloader_gx from the apps folder and put a new one without the CFG settings or set everthing in gx to defaults and then change the game folder to USB1

Thank you for the wonderful guide. However I do have a few questions.

      1. I have tired, using the links you provided, three different usb loaders. WiiFlow, CFG Loader, and USB Loader GX.

WiiFlow works perfectly to play GC games.

CFG Loader does not, when I try to play the game it tries to copy the game to my SD card.

USB Loader GX (My preferred loader) goes to a screen asking if I want to copy the game to my SD card, there is no option to start the game. I have changed the main path for GC games from SD to USB. I assume it is because I have not changed this option: "You need to change the settings in USB Loader GX (the game's settings, or the global settings) from DM (or DML) to DML 2.2." It may be a dumb question but I can't seem to find that option in the Global settings.

      2. I used a few retail games which I have and copied them to my USB using the USB Loader GX. The work fine on WiiFlow so I assume there is no issues doing so. I tried to put a few GC backups which I have on my computer onto the USB though, and these games do not show up alongside my other games. They are on the USB but they do not appear on my menu. How do I get these games to work? The are in .iso form.

      3. Can I put Wii Games and GameCube games on the same USB HDD?

1.CFG Loader does not work with 2.2 only 2.0 or 2.1wad and only the new GX r1198 or r1200 works with 2.2 wad with "USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT wad" or from the homebrew channel.

      2. all GC .iso in the games folder should have separate folders with the game id
      games/gameid/game.iso
      3. yes

      1) Unfortunately I don't think the links have been updated to the newest versions yet, but luckily they are easy enough to find. Look for USB Loader GX 3.0 r1200 and the forwarder channel version 5.1, that should solve your problem.

      2) to make those games show up either A) make sure the ISO is named "game.iso" literally, it has to be named "game.iso"...also make sure that it is in the correctly ID folder/location. Example, using Zelda Wind Waker

      USB1:/Games/GZLE01/game.iso

A simple way to be sure you have the correct ID and name is to run it through DiscEx but that is an optional step apparently as I and several others have gotten straight untouched ISOs to run.

      3) Yes, in fact I highly recommend doing that way. Male sure they are on the same partition as well, the GameCube games must be on a primary and active partition or they will not work.

I use USB Loader GX to rip all my games, I don't add any kind of patches to them either like DiscEX, just straight up rips.

Try using CleanRip to rip them. I'd recommended running then through DiscEx without compressing them, but alternatively you can created the folder yourself and name the game. Example using Zelda Wind Waker

      USB:/Games/GZLE01/game.iso

Make sure any games you're trying to run follow that structure, even naming the game as "game.iso"...literally name it game.iso and not after the games name, simply game.iso and nothing more. If your unsure what to name the games folder (ie my GZLE01 folder) look up the specific game on GameTDB and it should tell you what the ID is, just make sure you get the correct ID.

DiscEX is pretty useless since resizing games to play on the Wii makes them pretty much unplayable, though it does name the folders correctly. USB Loader GX gives the ripped games their respectful folders and names the ripped game; game.iso. Now, I did use my old PNY 2GB flash drive I use for repairing computers and was able to play Luigi's Mansion on it with out a problem, but I formatted it to FAT16 Cluster Size 32KB. My External 320GB Western Digital HDD has the GC games partition as FAT32 32KB Clusters. I wonder if that's what's causing the problems. I'll edit this post later OR make a new one detailing if changing the partition's format works. Cause all my other flash drives formatted to FAT32 don't work either, the only one I formatted to FAT16 ends up working. :U
