By the way, DM 2.0 has been fantastic, running all of my GC backups flawlessly on my 4.1u system menu and wiiflow r615. I would be lauding v2.2 but for some reason it was causing me trouble, not getting past the DM splash screen in most cases and not even getting that far in others. Just being able to load GC games from a USB instead of SD has me giddy enough, so kudos to the creator for making this possible (where some are still saying it will never happen).
Are using USB Loader GX r1198 or higher? I'm pretty sure that's the only way to use 2.2.

      Wiiflow r607 works perfectly too.

I know if you do it with CleanRip as I have for the 2 or 3 games I actually got to read before my laser died (or whatever caused my GC games to stop reading) you have to convert them with DiscEx and it will create a folder titled as the the game ID and inside it will have game.iso and the "sys" folder with 3 files inside. I assume they are necessary, I mean why else would they be generated and would we be told to copy tue GameID folder and all it's contents to the HDD? Lol...when I get my Wii back this weekend I'll have to test this and see (provided my disc read problem is fixed)

Nope, all other files seem to be unnecessary, straight ISOs run fine on dios mios and devolution

How do I save my syscheck result as a .csv (for use with modmii)?

Booting cmios, or dios mios puts the wii in gamecube mode, so a soft reset is required. If you have priiloader I think you can have it set to boot right into your usbloaderGX channel.

I'm not sure the newer SysCheck app can output it to SD/USB. I think you can only upload it.

Yeah, priiloader could do the trick but we all know where messing with priiloader can lead.. I too was going to answer this, but when I read it again he seemed to have been asking for a hook that remembers to go back to the loader you used to boot the game (doesn't matter if it was USB Loader GX, or WiiFlow, DM Booter, etc...) just if you run that hook, it would boot what loader got you there.

Pretty sure it saves it to the root of the SD card. I may not have the latest version if not.

Maybe I'm wrong, but last time I used it I was only given the options of "Shut down system", "return to HBC" and "Upload Report" which uploads to a web page and displays the URL on your TV screen.

Nah think it automatically saves it to the root of the SD, cheers thevoiceover

Also cleanrip doesn't seem to be verifying the MD5 checksum of the rips, any ideas how to change this?

So how am I looking now then?: http://syscheck.softwii.de/XC09glaH

Copy the file it creates for the root of your sd and load it into modmii. Modmii will generate a report of all you need to update..

way ahead of you is everything looking ok now then?

Just thought - do you think it'd be possible for Dios Mios to connect to the internet in some way? (Just ripped PSO lol)

Hello, and thank you for this helpful FAQ!
I've formatted my compatible USB drive correctly, updated all IOSs I was meant to, and am using the latest versions of the loader software (Dios Mios Booter, USB Loader GX, and Wiiflow). Everything seems to be working great until I want to actually play one of my backup GC titles (stored on USB). In all of the apps I am able to see the games as selectable, but when I start them up I just get a black screen. This occurs with and without a disc inserted.
Via USB Loader GX, I have tried the SD feature. It successfully puts the game in a 'games' folder on my SD card but still does not launch it. Black screen again.
I have Dios Mios 2.2 installed. I'd like to actually get as far as to see the Dios Mios boot screen but I've been at this for hours and my vision's getting so blurred I probably wouldn't see it anyway =)
Have I missed something? Both SD card and USB drive have the proper 'games' folder.
      Thank you so much!

is your drive one partition? if not make sure the games folder is in the 1st partition, USB 1

Hi, and thank you for your reply! Yep, one partition. Fat32 with the proper size clusters.

Have you try DIOS MIOS 2.1 with all three USB loaders ? Some games are not compatible so try different games and check the USBloader settings. The games will not work from SD with DIOS MIOS only DIOS MIOS Lite. IF USB Loader GX ask to install to SD, you do not have the newest USB loader GX

      I have USB Loader GX v3.0 r1198
      wiiflow r615
      DIOS MIOS Booter r30
      cfg 70 r36

so if you do not have the newest usb loader just use DIOS MIOS 2.1 or 2.0 wad
new usb loader update links are in previous post

Well I got the Wii back, re-hacked it and tested ripping a GC game...still nothing. So my issue is not the laser or the softmod (super confused). But thankfully we now have programs like Devolution and Dios Mios to fill the gap of not being able to load my retail GC discs
Hopefully the next update brings in audio streaming so the sound on Naruto Clash of Ninja 1&2 works.

WHAAT?!? You got your Wii back and STILL no retail playability? Are you willing to buy a new DVD drive for your computer that spins backwards? Wii and GC games don't have encryption like PS3 games. They are burned backwards on the disk (i.e. counterclockwise instead of clockwise). So you can actually rip it straight to your computer that way.

Yup, Wii games will read but GC game won't
I'm gonna probably try to hunt down a compatible disc drive for my comp, would a laptop be able to use one?

      SNES_Master:

This is a small list of drives that work to rip wii and gamecube discs, see spoiler:

      Spoiler

It seems mostly older DVD-Roms only. DVD writers not so much... *edit: Ripped off another site.

Yes I believe I know where that came from lol, now I just need to see which of those, if any, would fit a laptop.
