    DIOS MIOS v2.0 has been released by Crediar. DIOS MIOS allows you to run Gamecube games from an USB device on your Wii. This new versions allows the loading of GC games through USB. Not to be confused with DIOS MIOS Lite (DML).

      Ok, let me make sure I'm understanding this right. You tried IOS236 and 249 for the install of DIOS MIOS v2.0? It is the latest one correct, labeled as update 5 from the main site? And you've also tried both r1180 (should say under "credits" IOS249 + DIOS MIOS) r1193 mod02 for UBB Loader? You've made sure to set the main path for GC games to their correct location?

      If you've done all that and it's still forcing you to copy to SD then I'm not sure what else to say other than your HDD may not be compatible. That's really the only reason I can think for it to do that aside from DIOS MIOS not installing correctly or USB Loader GX having some issue. I'm sorry I can't provide any more assistance than that.

      Yup I've done all of that. The only thing I could think of is if my partition isnt 32kb cluster on my usb (it is very possible it just isnt compatible like you said.. which would suck) so I might try checking to see if it is true 32 tomorrow. And no worries I appreciate the help you have given me. Ill keep you updated when i try the cluster on my hd on here if you want. Is there a hd compatibility list for this that i might be able to look at to make sure that is the problem or not?

      edit: or is there another usb loader (other than usb loader gx) that is compatible with DIOS_MIOS that i could try out instead? I really want this to work and will try all the possibilities within reason haha

      I don't think there's a HDD compatibility list, there's one for games but not HDDs sadly. I've only ever used USB Loader GX but I've read that CFG Loader and WiiFlow can use DIOS MIOS as well so you could look into those. And about your HDD not being 32kb clusters that is definitely a reason for it to not work. GC games require a FAT32 drive with 32kb clusters so double check and see if yours is set that way. If not, correct it and post back to let us all know if it works.

      Also make sure the partition with the GC games is primary and active. That may help too.

      WORKING!!! i already had the partition with the gc games as primary and active however the partition was 64 and a quick backup of files, a format to 32kb and recopy my backup and now it works perfectly.

      running:
      USB Loader GX r1193 mod02
      DIOS_MIOS (update 5 or whatever) (installed in iOS 249)
      I also went through the wii softmod guide and just did an update to all of my wads/iOS a couple days ago
      and also installed the d2x ciOS v8-final

      order:
      1) updated all of my wads/iOS through the softmod guide (also updated priiloader with the guide to 07 i think but i doubt its relevant)
      2) installed the d2x cIOS v8-final wads (using iOS 236)
      3) installed DIOS_MIOS update 5 (using iOS 249)
      4) updated my already set up USB Loader GX r1180 with r1193 mod2 (which the dl is located on page 8 of this thread)
      5) I used EaseUS Partition Master to format my usb partition to Fat32 32kb cluster and it worked like a charm after that. (i backed up my files before formatting and just copied them back over afterwards) THIS IS SUPER SUPER SUPER IMPORTANT i overlooked this because i thought "hell im sure it is 32kb" but it wasnt and everything above was set up but because it was 64 it kept asking to copy it to my sd.


      other nice mentionables:
      -My USB Loader GX has its GC folder set up correctly usb:/games (might be different location for others of course)
      -I also used the DiscEX method in "scrubbing" my game
      -I have a 1TB western digital my passport with 2 partitions (just incase someone has this and is having problems know there is hope) you dont need my exact partitions im sure
      1) FAT32 32kb cluster (primary, active) 500gb
      2) NTFS ? cluster (primary) 500gb
      -I have a gamecube game in my wii disc drive (Burnout if youre curious)
      -I have only tried it on Super Smash Bros. Melee and is working wonderfully



      This is by no means a 100% guaranteed guide but hopefully something in here will help someone out. alsoooo i dont have a gamecube memory card so how exactly am i supposed to save the games haha. Is there a way around it or will i just have to go out and buy one? Thanks


      edit: A wonderful realization is I have not gotten my system to run gc games off my hd. However this has made it work for playing gc games from a sd drive while storing them on my external hd. I just copied it over to the sd with usb loader gx and it at least works for now. If i find anything more ill add to this. BAH!!!

      This.....the above post, easeus partition master is free and no reason why you shouldn't at least try it. It's a great little program....

      Did more testing this morning. The only version of DML/DM I can get to work is DMLr59 running games from the SD card. All versions of DML after r59 and DM 2.0+ hang with the splash screen and some garbage on the screen. I'm thinking the issue isn't with the USB since I'm seeing the same behavior of DML and DM before it even gets to loading a game.

      Anyone else seeing this?

      EDIT: Finally got it working on a Wii that does NOT have a SunDriver installed. I also reformatted the 4GB USB stick with EASEUS and runs games fine.

      I thought the SunDriver would represent a disc to the Wii that is compatible with DIOS MIOS. Apparently not. I'm going to remove the SunDriver this afternoon and replace it with the original DVD drive and see if that works.

      yes i have clicked the GC games box. For wiiflow i was able to see the games finally ( Mario Party 4 and SSBM) but when i load the game nothing happens and there is just a black screen

      Try following the steps posted by duff0712 and see if that helps.

      That's Great Phineas, but what's SunDriver? You never told me when I asked all those weeks ago.

      And SNES, Nintendo released a disc that would clean your wii's laser or disc reader sometime around when they released Brawl.

      Also, I updated the guide with how to use Ocarina.

      You can use NMM but it has a rather limited compatibility with games. It's in the settings for USB Loader GX and CFG Loader.

      Also, I haven't been on this thread recently because I somehow got unsuscribed so I thought it was quiet until I decided to add how to use Ocarina.

      Hello i am curious if i could get some clearification. I have Ikaruga and Zelda colletion and am trying to play them through this set up. I installed the DIOS MIOS V2.0 and the rvl-bc-v6 and i still cannot run the games off of USB drive. When i try i get a window that asks me to copy to sd to play. Is that what i'm suppose to do? or am i doing something wrong. My main path is usb1:/games/ and usb loader gx won't let me change the sd one. If i could get some help it would be much appreciated. I'd preffer to put the actual discs away and not let them get damaged. Thank you.

      I have never experienced it asking me to copy to SD except when I didn't have DIOS MIOS installed. Are you using mod 2 of USB Loader GX?

      I prefer to use a real Memory card over NMM but NMM is a nice thing to have as backup incase the real memory card dies. And cwjakesteel, I don't know if that will work or not...I'm pretty sure my laser is burning out from using burned backups a while back. I suppose it's worth a try but replacing the drive/laser might be more effective.

      Sundriver is a device that allows you to install an SATA hard drive in your Wii to replace the DVD drive. It's supposed to present the discs to the Wii so it looks like a regular disc. Similar to the Wode Device. Apparently it doesn't emulate the disc perfectly so it messes up DIOS MIOS.

      Check out d2sun dot com. Now that everything can run off of USB there's pretty much no need for it.

      Replacing this with the original DVD drive now makes DIOS MIOS Lite 1.5 work fine now from the SD card. So now I have choices.

      So this is interesting. I got some new games to try out after I got Super Smash Bros. Melee to work and now the rest of the games I have tried (Luigi's Mansion and Super Mario Sunshine) now tell me to copy/showsd/cancel like the problem I was having before. However when I click on Super Smash Bros. Melee it starts right up from the USB. I haven't tried fixing it yet but i will let you all know what i find once i mess around with it. Unless anyone has any ideas?

      If one game works but others don't you may want to check the compatibly list to see if they are simply not working for anyone. Aside from that all I can think of would be a bad rip. Try ripping it again (I recommend using CleanRip 1.0.5) and running the new rip through DiscEx and see if it still has that problem.

      Games that aren't compatible I think wouldn't give that copy to SD message.

      The fact that it says that would make it seem he's not using the right version of USB Loader or that DM isn't installed right but he has at least 1 game working so it's apparent he does have the right USB Loader + DM, that's why I'm leaning more towards it potentially being a bad rip/compression error. I could be wrong, I'm still a novice when it comes to DM :P

      Soooooo I figured out what the problem was. I have not got my usb loader gx able to play games off my hd with DIOS_MIOS. I had forgotten I had installed Super Smash Bros. Melee to my sd card which is why it just started to play no questions asked and asked to copy to sd for other games. A quick removal of my sd card made me realize that. So after that large write up I still have not set up playability from my hd.... ugh.... one of those EUREKA moments shot down haha. so im back to square one i guess.

      i have
      32kb cluster FAT 32
      all new iOS
      d2x v8-final wads
      DIOS_MIOS update 5
      usb loader gx r1193 mod02
      everything is set up primary/active/path wise

      I am really thinking my hd just doesn't have compatibility. I hope someone knows what's up but for now i am just going to have to play the games off my sd (1 game on at a time), which is a inconvenience but it at least works for now. any other tips are welcome


      play from SD works
      just still dont have the play from USB working. (I thought you could only play from sd with dios lite? and i know i downloaded dios_mios update 5)
