I think perhaps DIOS MIOS didn't install properly. Which iOS did you use to install DIOS MIOS v2?

Which IOS did you install the DIOS MIOS v2 wad with? That same error occurred for me but it was because I used the wrong IOS for the install, I've fixed it and got it working now.

You need USB Loader GX r1193 mod 2. Check the GX thread on gbatemp to download it.

Compatibility for Wii games and Gamecube games are different. Just because it runs for Wii doesn't mean it will run for GC. Also, your partition is first, right?
Yep, primary and active - also games don't boot from dios mios booter, so that rules out it being a problem with usb loader gx... I installed dios mios 2.0 (rev 5) using IOS 249 so that should be all good right? I've got no idea what else I can try

Sounds like we may need to start a new hdd compatibility list for dm. I am bummed that my wd drive that I have been using for Wii games does not work for dm. I have to find one that works for both.

Sent from my PH44100 using WiiHacks

Try re-installing with IOS236 and see if that works.

      'Lo all...

Ok, so assuming my WD 2TB was the culprit I switched to an 8GB Sandisk USB card. Now running DIOS MIOS 2.0 brings up the splash screen with a line of garbage going through the bottom of the logo and it hangs there.

Also tried a Gigaware 4GB stick. The blue light goes on and I can hear the gamecube disc spin up then a blank screen.

Well I've now tried a Western Digital MyBookWorld 2TB Drive and a 4GB Kingston Datatraveler Drive

I have a WD Essentials 1TB that works fine. A lot of times, it's the usb controller card, not the HDD that is the issue. I can't imagine WD uses alot of different controller cards in their setup. I read on another forum that someone was having issues with their HDD, so they used Easeus Partition Master and found their drive was GPT. They changed it to MBR and then all was good. Something to try...

      GPT/MBR? How do I see/change that?

      Just trying to locate IOS36-64-3351.wad...

I'm using a WD Essentials 2TB without any luck. I'm going to try to find another drive today and do a test. As you can tell... I'm obsessed with getting this working.

Unfortunately not at the moment, let me see if I can find one though. I do know that it's recommend you use 236 for any Homebrew installs.

      Edit: Try this,

      http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew/697...r-clipper.html

There is also a way to have Multi-Mod Manager install and patch IOS36/236 but it's been so long since I did it that way I wouldn't be able to tell you how :P you'll be good to go as long as you follow the instructions in the link I posted though.

Cheers, that's the one I've been trying (only rev 6 instead) but I'm getting an error as soon as it opens saying i haven't followed the instructions - I'm sure I have the lastest version of the HBC installed, only I have no idea how to access the menu in it to check anymore! (1/home doesn't work) what do u press to access the menu in HBC 1.1 pls?

Also I've tried installing Dios Mios using d2x v8 but still no luck

Pressing Home should bring up the HBC info/options page, it does for me. As for IOS236, you're certain you have it installed? If so launch your Wad manager program (Multi-Mod Manager is what I use), go to "load another IOS" and select 236 (this is incase your program doesn't auto-load on 236), once you've done that it goes back to the selection screen, scroll up to Wad Manager and press A on the wad you want to install.

That should do it, if it doesn't work after that there may be something else not installed right or missing, in which case you'd have to go to the System Check thread and post your system check for assistance.

If this helps... I reinstalled DIOS MIOS update 5 using 236. Same result... hangs at splash screen.

Just tried a WD mypassport 300GB drive and it's getting to the splash screen at least this time - the gamecube/dios mios symbol appears, then a black screen after that..

What dadi said was interesting. I am going to try to re-format my 8 GB sandisk differently too see if I can find something where DIOS MIOS ceases to work.

Yea a compatibility list in order. How do we start one?
