I setup DIOS MIOS 2.0 wad, ran my iso through DiscEx.exe to compress into the game directory, and put into the usb game directory like usb:\games\GM4P01. Then setup both Config v70r35 and USB Loader GX 3.0 to pull Gamecube games from usb:\games

The game is seen in both Config and GX but when I try to run the game, Config lets me know there is not enough room to run the game and GX asks me to copy the game to sd:games first before playing.

What gives ? Is this normal. I have never load DML before, I just straight to diosmios 2.0 to setup usb loading of Gamecube games.

      Any ideas ?

fat32format.exe is a good superfast program to format harddrives to fat32 format. It take like 1 minutes to quick format all drives and seems to make a perfectly compatible drive. Just put fat32format.exe into your c:\windows\system32 directory and you can run it forever from a dos command prompt. Like "fat32format.exe e:"
It's free or course, it might even be opensource

Remember this is Relatively New,so there will be some bugs in it.(Compatible Issue's)

No,it has nothing to do with The color of your wii and why the program is failing.
I have the same problem, it works on my son's wii and his HDD but not on my Hdd.
I still use DML for this purpose.
I think the primary issue is the Newer Black Wii's don't have Gamecube ports on the top (different hardware unfortunately), so I don't thing you are going to be able to play ANY gamecubes games on a Black (or Blue) Wii.

      Please Use The EDIT Function.

That's for some black wii's.Some black wii's have the ports.
I don't remember this person stating that they have a wii that doesn't support the GC.

You should read that person's post again.

Dios Mios allows playback of retail GameCube discs as well as USB loaded, correct?

DML broke my compatibily of retail GC discs. To get the correct Mios installed, kill DML and restore retail GC support, I was told to install Mios v10. Is this safe to do so, and where do I get it from?

An then just follow the guide for DIOS MIOS V2?

Hum, I didn't know that Nintendo came out with an older Black Wii before the latest without Gamecube ports. Yeh, your right, he never said anything about not having Cube ports. A link below is the the more recent hardware, with the Mario Kart game and wheel bundle. It's recent around 2011 and is without Gamecube ports, I wonder if that is his model.

The Blue (Walmart 2011) Wii as well does not have Gamecube ports.

Question, Jax, is that normal for GX 3.0 to ask to copy the GC game to the SD card (sd:\games) before it allows you to launch the game ?

      1.) Yes,it's suppose to. I haven't tried.

2.)Yes, it is safe to install and you can get it from nus downloader.(Be careful as you always run a risk when installing wads)
Run Nus Downloader and Make sure that you select on the bottom of the program to pack as wad and local files only, then Go to database, then to mios and select v10.

3.)Yes,you can follow the Dios Mios Guide or just install Dios Mios Wad and it will over write the DML.

We have to remember this is new,so some of these issue's will occur.(Can't say what normal is.Lmao )
I've noticed that as well and I had to re-install the Dios Mios wad and then it would work again.
Meaning Usb loader gx would start working right again.

Like I said before though,it works off one of the three HDD's I have.
I can't wait for it to be fully functional.

I'm sure a bunch of you out there have already got this to work. Can someone test running a retail GameCube disc? Certain games (nba 2k3) just crash with DM and DML. I do not want to lose retail GC support like I did with DML.

I'll be going through with this tonight!

definitely breaks retail GC discs on black wii (WITH gc ports) but it's easy to get back you just reinstall mios. it's a pain to switch back and forth but this'll probably be fixed in the future. If you use component cables be wary of progressive scan games because for me at least selecting it made it freeze. so far I've gotten Super Mario Sunshine and Super Smash Bros. Melee to work but for some reason Luigi's Mansion hangs at the nintendo logo when it works fine on dolphin in my PC... odd

EDIT: just in case anyone has the same issues with Luigi's Mansion that I did, of all things the PAL version worked on ForcePAL60 when nothing I tried would on the ntsc version. and apparently the PAL version has extra stuff like mirror mode that was left out of ntsc so I'm quite happy

P.S. I am using usb loader gx 3.0

P.S.S. my zelda banner on channel view appears as sonic adventure battle 2 if you could help with that please no biggie though.

On the main cfg loader screen theres a settings button...click on that and look for dml ...switch that to "dm" and cfg should load all the games off the usb.

dadi40, your the Man! Yup, change the dml switch in Config to "DM" and all is fine. Running D2Xv8 and Config v70r35
      Yeh!!!
I have not yet got it working in GX 3.0 yet, it trys to copy to the SD as well.

That happened to me once but it fixed itself afterwards. I don't know what happened. I think it was because my game was the wrong region.
It also happened because the partition I was using wasn't first. But yours is an SD...

So in other words are we saying that at the moment you can not play GC games from USB AND SD its one or the other??

I was using DML playing my GC games from SD perfectly fine , then i tried DM v2 and i did get a game to play off USB but subsequently found that retails discs would no longer play as normal and none of my games on my SD card would load either.

I then had to uninstall DM wad and reinstall ios249 to get everything back to normal!!

Does anyone know if i can install DM to play games from USB HD without it screwing up everything else??

I've read everything but can't figure this out

      Thanks in advance!

I'm running CFG v70r36 and I switched mine to DML and it's still installing to the sd only. If I take the game folder an put it on the HD and delete it from the sd the games will play just fine but it will only install to the sd every time. Any other ideas?

Just a question, but have you installed the dios mios 2.0 wad? Under your cfg settings, dml has options like dml 1.5 etc. make sure its set for just dm.

Yes I've installed it and DM is selected. Everything works fine it just won't install to the hard drive. I have to move the game from the sd to the hard drive every time.

hey.. so far this works perfectly in my wii.. only question is.. is there a way to list the games from both the ntfs and fat32 partition? (got my wii on ntfs and gc on fat32, due dios mio limitations)

Can you please explain to me how you got this working?

As I mentioned in my previous post I can not successfully use DM without it disabling my disc drive for retail discs, it also screws up playback from SD card in my USB loader GX.

I too have a partitioned my hard drive like yours, I chose to put my Wii games on NTFS and I have a secondary partition in FAT32 for Roms etc.

Ive read the FAT32 partition would need to be your primary partition for the GameCube games to load through USB so how have you done this??

      Thanks
