The game files that you have on sd:/games, you have copied over to usb:/games to maintain the exact same directory structure?

I'm also thinking that maybe DM may not like your hard drive. I don't think I've ever seen it before where a hard drive that can play Wii games cannot play GC games, but I imagine it may be possible.

Your loader should be good, if you've used it on DML 2.6, but just in case, which loader (including full revision number) are you using?

I can load the GC games with dios mios 2.6/2.7 on both loaders = USBLOADER GX (3.0, lastest one) and Wiiflow 4.1

in both, when trying to run GC games from usb, the system just shutdown after loading the game

exemple: I played a little of Mario SUnshine and after not creating a save file , played the game a little and the system shutdown

example 2: Metal Gear SOlid: TTS, the system shutdown after the memory card screen, or after the inicial cinematics, its randomly...

What do you suggest me to do? Help please

from my SD card 2GB with dios mios lite all games runs perfectly

**I made a folder named GAMES/ in the USB and SD ....both are running but the Wii shutsdown suddenly when playing from the USB

      Diosmios,
Did you try turning off Force-Prog for those games?
      I'm still using 2.6 I did not try 2.7 or 2.8.

      2.8 (2013-02-24)

      • Fixed a bug in GCLoader that broke the progressive patch
      • Moved progressive patch back 16 bytes, this fixes PADHOOK and progressive patching not working at the same time

      2.7 (2013-02-20)

      • Fixed a bug that caused a black screen when using PADHook and Progressive mode patching at the same time

      2.6 (2012-12-01)

      • Reduced HDD read time out to 25 seconds
      • Added two disc supports (Extracted format is unsupported)

For GX, go to METAL GEAR SOLID/Settings/DML Progressive patch/ OFF or Use global/ Save
Try to use global for GX GC games settings or select Default Gamesettings
For Wiiflow keep the video mode default or your region with the i not the p for prog
      I'm using WiiFlow 4.1 r436 and GX 1209

You should be banned for having that nick/nickname/handle/registration ID with what you said in mind, lol... damned newbs!

Banned because my nickname is the same from an illegal software?

since when you have rights to register illegal software? lol

anyways, im just trying to solve the problem I have with dios mios for USB: my GC games boot, but they shutdown my Wii, randomly in the mid of gameplay

      1. DiosMios isn't illegal (and if it was, we'd not have guides on this).
      2. If you're using it for an illegal purpose (to play games you don't legitimately own), shame on you
      3. The purpose of my statement was here we got a guy named Diosmios who knows nothing of Diosmios (shrug, you're definitely foreign).

certainly DIos Mios wasnt approved by Nintendo since you have to hack your Wii to use it... also hacks are not legit lol

and this site is named as Wii Hacks...

anyways, any solution for this problem? GC games randomly shutting down my Wii after being loaded by USB with dios mios???

they do boot, but the shutdown my wii after some minutes of gameplay, sometimes seconds...

He's joking with you for using the name "DiosMios" and then having questions about it.

One would think that if you used that name, you'd be the expert. So it could be confusing.

ok, but, how to fix this problem? I got this Wii with retro compatibility just to play GC games via USB, Im new to Wii because my console this generation is a PS3

I want to play GC games via USB, but when I finally made it works, the console shuts down randomly...

Sounds like no one knows. This is a new one to me. The only thing that I would suggest is to try another USB device. We have a compatibility "matrix" where initially people were saying if hard drives work for Wii games, and then lately have been adding DM compatibility as well.

      http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...lity-list.html

I bought this hard drive last month to replace my 250gig that was full and it works with both Wii and GC games: Amazon.com: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 1.5 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive STAC1500100: Electronics

can you look at your HD whar number is set to boot value???

My external USB is SEAGATE 300GB, it has cluster 32kb, set to active and primary, and with boot value of 56kb...I cannot reduce boot to less than that

my SD is 2gb, with 32kb cluster and 32kb boot...

can you check yours so I can compare?

I've never heard of a "Boot value". how do you determine that?
    1. Diosmios's Avatar
      Diosmios -
I formatted with paragon partition manager, it works well for PS3, works well for Wii games

you can see the value in paragon partition manager...maybe its that what is causing me trouble....

I have my HDD set to cluster 32kb , boot 56kb (cant reduce it)

How did verify your SEAGATE 300GB was FAT32 with 32kb cluster? Did you use the method in the guide?
You could also use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced : right click your disk/change cluster size/current cluster size: I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on three HDD to change it from 64KB to 32KB and I did not lose any data. (I ONLY RECOMMEND ACRONIS BECAUSE NO DATA LOSS)

I set it to 32kb manually in the PARAGON PARTITION MANAGER, it shows me..when I get home I will do the .txt file test to be sure, but as far as I know, its 32kb cluster

      ---

help please, im reading the thread and got know this:

I can confirm these issues, however, AFTER doing what thestas said in his post (downloading the Seagate application and setting the auto-shutoff to never), the drive works perfectly.

      http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-custom-s...ware-here.html

      found this thread
Working ... but only after using Seagate's utility to turn off the auto-shutoff
my external HD is SEAGATE 320GB , perhaps this is the cause of the problem?

what means auto-shutoff??? means my HD will turn off alone?

Yes, no matter what method, mistakenly having your cluster size to anything but 32kb seems to be prevelant. The text file is a sure-fire method.

*Fixed a bug that caused a black screen when using PADHook and Progressive mode
      patching at the same time
